Since I have one child that has completed the local system and another that has gone through SAS, I can confirm that the standard of English between my two kids is substantially different. This is evident in terms of breadth of vocabulary, word choices, grammatical structure and pronunciation.

There are also certain speech impediments that are endemic to local speakers. One example: any word starting with the th sound will be pronounced with a t sound… so a word like three becomes tree. My daughter starting doing this after only a few short years in local school, and despite my efforts to persuade her otherwise, she eventually told me: everyone else speaks like that, why do I need to say it differently, and besides, I want them to understand me.

I told her that she also needs to be understood by her grandparents (who have only ever been able to understand about half of what she is saying) and other people outside Singapore. But alas, she doesn’t speak to them on a regular basis, so it has never been a priority. By contrast, the grandparents understand my son just fine, so to me this is a good test, since I am too close to the problem and may not always see it.

Does that mean my daughter has some technical deficiencies? Generally no, although she misreads situations sometimes, this is partly cultural. She scored fairly well on the English section of the SAT, among the highest percentile of all test takers. Not as high as the Math section, but a highly respectable score nonetheless.

Overall, I would say there is a compromise that has to be made if choosing local school. For some people, this might not even feel like a compromise because they don’t know what they don’t know… so it all depends on where you are coming from, what you expect, and where your priorities are.
Do you think she'll make/attempt to make any changes to her speech now that she's moving to the US for school?

Says the gay guy ( Addadude) who supports LGBTQ curriculum in schools and sexually charged books in school libraries for young children. Back off and indoctrinate your own kids, not other people's kids.
Completely unnecessary attack.

Sure, sure. Tell that to the DE-transitioners who cut up their body parts in the name of the LGBTQ and gender ideology (i.e. little girls who transitioned by undergoing mastectomies and later regretted cutting up their breasts and little boys who underwent chemical castrations and now are living to regret it).
You make some pretty fantastic (and unbelievable) claims. How about citing a few reputable sources to backup your claims? PS: OAN is not a reputable source. Neither is Breitbart.

Detransitioner Chloe Cole spoke before the US senate on being misled by trans-captured medical practitioners who had her undergo a mastectomy without identifying other psych issues she might have had but immediately rushed her into gender transitioning. They had both her breasts cut off while she was a teen. fyi, the detrans community on Reddit has swollen to over 50k members, many of whom were psychologically corrupted and eventually physically harmed by gender ideology that is currently taught in some International Schools.

For someone who calls him/herself 'Strong Eagle', you might want to work on your inner strength considering how anyone who holds a different opinion for you is being a bigot and being cruel towards your 'feelings'.

Are you deaf? You again spout a bunch claims but provide no sources whatsoever. It's useless, you supply your unsubstantiated allegations with no evidence.

You are not a bigot for holding a different opinion than mine. You are a bigot, and a thoroughly rancid one at that, for your opinion and treatment of homosexuals. You seem incapable of understanding that homosexuality is not a choice.

Again, provide some evidence of your claims. Chloe Cole is one voice in opposition, who are the others?

Of course, whats new? lol ad-hominem attacks coming from the TQ community. The Tavistock gender clinic run by trans-captured medical practitioners who rushed kids into changing their genders (i.e. conversion therapy on gays into becoming trans) is being sued by over a thousand families. None of these families matter I suppose?

Even those from within the LGB community - like "Gays Against Groomers" - are actively speaking out on the sexually charged LGBTQ curriculum in schools and the full on pornographic material in school libraries (e.g. Gender Queer, My color is purple, This book is gay"). Yep, these books exist even in some International Schools in Singapore. Perhaps someone should alert the local government about this.

You must be a complete narc if you think people are concerned whether you like those of the same sex. My high school coach was gay but we all loved him and not once did he have some twisted agenda to seek validation from his own athletes for his sexual preferences. Some teachers crave that validation from their own students and its downright pathetic. To want to normalize and even CELEBRATE sex when it comes to minors and other people's kids? That crosses the line bud.
