PR galore and work in iGaming

Post by Zachari » Wed, 21 Jan 2026 1:55 pm

Hi team,

I'm really stressed out right now. I'm preparing my application for PR (Permanent Residency) here in Singapore, but I've just been offered a really well-paid job at an online casino platform (the kind of site that's just launched with lots of roulette and crypto). The salary is night and day, but I don't know if it's a risky move. Does immigration look closely at the company's line of business? I'm afraid that working in online gambling will look bad on my application and ruin my chances of staying here long term. On the one hand, there's the immediate money, on the other, the security of expatriation. Has anyone ever worked in this field here or knows if it's frowned upon for visas and PR?

^^^^^^
If you're preparing for Singapore PR, why are you posting from Glasgow, Scotland?

Hi, thanks for pointing that out! I’m currently still in Glasgow, but I’m planning to relocate to Singapore soon, and that’s why I’m starting the PR prep in advance. I’m mainly worried about whether working in roulettino or similar online gambling platforms could affect my PR chances. The offer is tempting financially, but I don’t want to risk jeopardizing my long-term stay here. Has anyone had experience with how immigration views this kind of industry?

Have you got a job offer in Singapore? Have you met the requirements for PR?

From the way you write, it sounds like you think you are going to waltz in, get a PR, and get a job. It doesn't work that way. Do you qualify for PR under one of the criteria on the ICA website?

OP goes from "here in Singapore" to "currently still in Glasgow" after getting busted.

Followed by "planning to relocate to Singapore soon" so "starting the PR prep".

Along the way drops a few online casino terms and the name of an actual online casino.

And not a tic-toc in sight???

Gaming / Casino businesses needs license from MAS to operate legally. You are relocating to Singapore under what type of immigration / MOM work pass? Then again, when u want to apply for PR, u need minimum a SPASS from MOM to apply. I dont think there is any legal online gambling platforms other than Singapore Pools. lol
