'Hi chance?' No, this isn't bongo-land, so, no, zero chance.idyllic wrote:Just receive a letter that PM helps to send appeal letter to ica. High chance?
Actually that is something I have pondered , what is the point of getting PM/MP/politician to send a letter of appeal regarding PR application.nakatago wrote:You gotta think: "Why would the prime minister entertain a request from a person he mostly doesn't know asking to be PR?" If he did that, what's the point then of having a whole government agency handling permanent residency?
Yes, but if no extra detail, other than Mr/Mrs/Ms A are really nice folk, is given in the appeal letter , and the appeal is succesful , then what is the pont of the ICA?menudown wrote:probably its through the constituency meet-the-people session held by the PM
the reason for the appeal must be that the application have been previously rejected by ICA
Quota for what?menudown wrote:maybe ICA have set some quota or something
I know enough cases where, shockingly, the MPs letter didn't influence the outcome of the appeal, which was rejection.menudown wrote: a friend of mine did met an MP coz his wife's PR got rejected.. but the appeal is not a successful one
For example, to override immigration guidelines in specific cases. Sort of what Lynx mentioned but probably had to be stronger yet not widely publicised. A donor giving free his blood for 20y to Singaporeans could be a good candidate. I don't think any middle level ICA officer/head would do anything about this and they would not propagate such case any higher.nakatago wrote:You gotta think: "Why would the prime minister entertain a request from a person he mostly doesn't know asking to be PR?"
