Overlooked this. On the other hand the strange habit of applauding the pilots of the regular airliners for a safe landing under safe circumstances in well equipped top world safe airports is for some reason rather common

I could understand that, when landing at the old HK airport, literally flying between the buildings after dropping down after the mountain and stopping before rolling into the harbour.
