NOT the dark side.

Post by Bubbles » Sat, 06 May 2006 7:41 pm

Not trying to start off another 'dark side' conversation, but look at this link.....

http://lifestyle.uk.msn.com/beauty/arti ... tid=463531

OK, it's a journo doing a slating of cosmetic surgery etc, and laughing in his/her own way about it.....THEN.....look down the page to the 'nose' section....

He/she then says....

We’re not quite sure what’s going on with Victoria Beckham but, if she hasn’t had a nose job, she might want to think about it..........

I tell you, what hope is there if they say on one hand, 'Laugh, laugh, who's had what done then?'.....and then say, 'Ah but perhaps this woman's nose is rather...large...or whatever, she should get it fixed'....

Chicken/egg/chicken....catch 22 or whatever.....I call it having double opinions and making a quick buck out of it, too.

Leave Victoria Beckham alone, ok, she's a bit of a madam, and may have had her boobs done, but, so what? Still, guess now peeps will say....'Ah, she loves the limelight, tough on her then.'

Sigh, sigh. Where did inner beauty go to?

Scarey, hey? Honestly, it makes you wonder what the hell was in this woman's mind. She's made a monster of herself.

Jocelyn has always been cited as the cautionary tale. The female Michael Jackson. I wonder though -- what if my face had been shattered in my car accident and not my arm?

I think its the 'bread & butter' business from young girls from the Dark Side that help further the technology and techniques for true reconstructive miracles.

You know what Mary, I think you're right. So, in their way, (the dark side) they're doing a good job, perhaps......???

Well, it would be nice to gleen a bit of goodness. Last night we had dinner with a lovely couple and we were discussing the plight of teens in America and the abundance of drugs like crystal meth virtually all over America and in schools. The American culture is so burdened by:

over-indulgence,
instant gratification,
can't see the forest for the trees,
spoiled by choice

mentality that teens are turning to dangerous, hard core drugs when 20 or 30 years ago it was a joint and a beer. It shouldn't be any surprise at all that these same kids want boob jobs as a graduation present.

I'm now going to sound like my gran.....

'The world's gone mad'....

Yep, it truly has....

And the sad fact......there's no turning back you know....it'll get much worse, and never be the same again. Pointless wishing for the past times....however much we want them....

All we can do is give our kids a sense of self worth and hope to God that that's enough....

But....is it?

Seems like my Grandmother said the same thing 40 years ago.

I'm just glad that my girls will be different when they get out of the nunnery at age 22.

Nunnery? Is that something like a cannery or hatchery? Or did you mean Convent?

SMS, it's very much a real word.

From Hamlet , when Hamlet is speaking to Ophelia 'Get thee to a nunnery...'

Me thinks its Act III, scene 1.

Thanks, Mary. I'm so glad I was taught Latin at school! Nothing like a classical education.
