I use Grab more than Taxi, more convenient than to flag down a taxi.

Getting a ride is cheap in Singapore that the difference in pricing I find to be negligible.. Well, there are fewer Grab drivers on Sundays so Grab can be as high as thrice the fare of a metered taxi due to dynamic pricing.

I definitely use grab more. The pricing is typically cheaper than flying down a taxi off the street and it’s nice to know the exact cost before booking rather than having to guess how much the trip will cost at the end of the ride.

I use grab to book taxis. I would use normal grab but I have a 16 months old daughter. So taxis it is in order to comply with the law.

I like the convenience of being able to pay digitally without the hassle of fumbling with change.

No one under the height of 1.2 m is allowed in a private car (including private hire vehicles) without a booster seat. Taxis are exempted from the rule.

We have a portable seat which can be strapped in to the car and fitted onto the stroller but it's quite inconvenient to carry around. Now I know that it's not perfectly safe to be traveling in taxis without a booster seat, but at this point it's not like we can go out a whole lot. It's mostly trips to the paediatrician for vaccination and that's actually just a 5 minutes taxi ride. Or when we've taken public transport and get caught somewhere in the rain.

A car is certainly more convenient, something we'll probably have to look into when we start to move around more often. But at the moment the costs outweigh the benefits.

Interesting! I never knew of such a law, we always had a car when our daughter was younger so we never really had to take a taxi.

I'm using taxis first and grab as a back up only if I can't get a taxi or need a bigger ride with more space, grab6 then.

You can book taxis exactly the same way on comfort, the app was there already before grab and Uber made it in Singapore, initially there was no fixed price, but nowadays it's often cheaper than grab. Depending on peaks etc.

Really? My understanding was that Grab is generally much cheaper than taxi companies.
