Where can I buy a Rolex?

I dont know about Rolex but last weekend I wanted to buy a watch for my wife and we headed to Mustafa and searched for lots of watches and finally found that the Indian watch manufacturer Titan actually has the best design. It cost only $90 but the was better than any of the Swiss watches there. Here's the watch.

I've seen plenty of Titans and actually owned one. I can assure you it's not "better" than any semi-decent Swiss watch. Just better than the ones at Mustafa, maybe.

You should've also bolded the word "best" and talked about The Theory of Relativity. Really zzm, I'm disappointed

I'm wearing a cheap casio. I also have a 40+ year old Omega mechanical that was bequeathed to me but is not something I like to wear as it's too purty to wear (effeminate would be a better description) as it's a dress watch and not a chronograph that we normally think of when talking Omegas.

I'm facing this dilemma.

I've quite long (c10+ years) pined for a gold Cartier tank watch. I already have a Cartier as my daily watch (and have for 30 years, something I bought myself as a crazy gift, 'after I'd taken on the entire world and won - aged 21'). Just I normally wear an admittedly clunky weird battered dive computer instead, or my £30 (but got free via some magazine subscription offer) Casio dive watch.

The issue of status is interesting. If I spent S$30k on .... oh, let's just completely randomly say (lol) an 18k Cartier Tank, it is something I'd love to own and enjoy. But at the same time, I'd be very embarrassed for anyone else to know that that was/is what it is, and that I'm somehow trying to project, or make some kind of statement.

[I even bought something parallel for my wife a couple of years ago, but can't bring myself to do it for myself, '/How f'd up is this dilemma lol]

JR8, that's why I don't wear my Omega. It's a tank style dress watch as well but with an integrated band, but in 14K (US gold standard for jewelry but you know that as you worked in the US), I have a problem with it, even knowing the man who owned it was 6'3" tall and a bruiser but looked like Colonel Sanders. I could never imagine him wearing it either and from the physical condition, it was pretty obvious he felt more or less the same way.

what about the type of people who are client facing and who need to wear something flashy/fashionable just to be able to get a contract?
I know so many sales people who like to do that in my office. On the other hand my personal nerd preferences are to wear a watch with two dials, one set to Singapore and the other set to whatever country that I'd be traveling to.

I worry about the bling encrusted types as, if I am a perspective rube, I'd have to wonder if I was getting ripped off if the guy/girl is making enough dosh to live that kind of style. OR, I wonder if the guy/gal was just a poser wearing fakes to try to impress. Low key (not no key) win it for me.
