guys i have a question - do the links provided in the first post work? i mean if you press banking and finance you are then transferred to

http://jobs.singaporeexpats.com/search. ... %20finance

and what you see there are vacancies with strange dates like "Feb 20", "Feb 13", "Feb 04", etc. Are these real of fake vacancies and what's wrong with the dates? Would appreciate a lot an explanation.

Thanks

I noticed that too, but if you click on the individual job ads, they have the date advertised and the respond to date. They seem current, at least for the IT jobs! :)

There is an Outward Bound School on Pulau Ubin, which is an island a short ferry ride from the Singapore mainland.
http://www.obs.pa.gov.sg/

Wakeboarding and diving are popular sports here, and there are quite a few companies which are involved in these sports. Bear in mind that the government is unlike to offer an employment pass for this type of work if they feel there are locals who are willing to do it. But if you will be here for up to three years, you might as well try.

If you do find you have troubles getting a job, consider going back to school and becoming a PE teacher. There is a nice fit between your interests and that profession. Sometimes schools also like the idea of getting two teachers instead of one! :)

Good Luck! :)

There are regular ferries. It is a matter of staying near the place where the ferry leaves from.

You should check it you are required to stay on the island sometimes as that could be likely at times.

Start some investigations once you get here!

Good Luck!

Dear All

How is the IT job market now in Singapore? One of my friend(Indian) has EPEC. He did his Masters in Engineering Technology in USA.Currently he is unemployed in India. He was working in USA, last year got laid off.

Will be worth asking him come to Singapore for job hunt?

Hi all

I have been applying for jobs for the past month now. In all the sports and adventure companies but no one seems to get back to you. If anyone could possibly give me some companies that they know are recruiting it would be very useful. Thank you.

cheers Sean

there are always plenty of expat women looking for personal trainers.. you could freelance, or maybe you could try the gyms, they often employ expats for special classes. try to rack up some experience or training before you come. California Fitness, Fitness First, etc.. google it..[/u].. ps. i have a ski boat, but we are oldies on 'water skiis', we are the only ones in Singapore i think! all others wake-board.
