I have not met one new person recently who has a fat expat package . . . (including me . . . all gone . . . down the drain . . . whisked away . . . poof . . . you get the idea!)
As far as income parity goes one needn't even look at CPF, tax, withholding etc . . .
How about a simple formula:
Country A = X
Country B = Y
Country C = Z
Hmm, this translates to the fact that different countries have different pay scales.
For GC:
A seamstress in Somalia earns less than one in San Francisco
A bricklayer in Botswana earns less than one in Berlin
An accountant in Amsterdam earns less than one in Antofagasta
An HR person in Houston earns more than one in HoChiMinh City
A shoe salesman in Shanghai earns less than one in Stockholm
Umm, starting to sink in?
Sorry you didn't take one of the jobs?
