Swimming group

Post by Shoops_1 » Sat, 21 Jul 2012 10:56 am

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in starting up a swim group.
I can provide session plans and if others have some session plans that would be great. Depending on who would like to join then we can arrange for it to be at different pools on different days so hopefully there is one session near to you atleast once a week.
It's a great way to meet people and get a good all over workout without having to deal with the heat.
Only cost would be entry to the pool which is between $1-$1.50
The best time for the sessions seem to be 8am as it is the time between the early swimmers who take over the whole pool and the normal opening time of 9.30am
People wishing to join would need to be able to swim freestyle reasonably well and we can have up to 3 groups with differing session lengths and speeds.

If you are interested in joining please supply your email address and i will start putting it all together.

swimming group

Have you established a groupd yet. I'm interested. Going to a pool by myself is boring. I can swim but not formally trained. My schedule is open during the weekday.

I am interested but my chosen stroke is breastroke. I actually swim that faster than I do front crawl. Many moons ago I was a county level competition swimmer in the UK.

I have not exercised for a while but once I get going after a few sessions I should be quick enough not to cause the crawl swimmers any problems.

Let me know if thats OK and if this gets off the ground.

Could someone please post an update on this thread? Was a group ever formed? Is it still running? I'd be interested in joining.
Thanks :-)

I guess not but I could use some swim partners so let me look into it.

Where are you located?

I'm on the East Coast, but travel for work, so I could get to somewhere central, north or east. And you?

Hi there,

I'd be interested in joining if you guys manage to set anything up. Live in the West, work in the Northeast.

Cheers.

I was planning to start swimming regularly at Yio Chu Kang, but not until mid-January. Until then I'm just paddling around my condo pool

What did you have in mind?

I normally go to the swimming pool at Pioneer Sports Complex. Cos its boring swimming alone, its always nice to have another friend to swim with so we can motivate one another. I am planning to go swimming on weekends.. we can meet to swim if you are keen

Isn't it kind of tough to get such a group going when everyone is at a different level ?
