local community covid cases

Post by x9200 » Wed, 24 Jun 2020 8:18 am

Statistically, there seems more daily local community infections in work pass holders than SCs/SPRs. There seems to be also less SCs than PRs. I am referring to the data gov reports every day (e.g. via whatsup). Interestingly, practically no LTVP and such - there was one case or so within last 1-2 weeks. And probably most frequently (in community), work permit holders outside the dorms. This is pretty interesting pattern taking into account the respective population numbers.

Low No for LTVP (haven't seen any DP) may suggest one of the scenarios: (1) the majority of the mentioned work pass holders are of the type not allowing them to bring over their families, or (2) most if not all the cases come from the quarantine and are work related.

Work Permit holders (outside dorms) are perhaps still linked to the dorms some way.

Yes, I have been puzzled over the numbers too.

Why always more WP holders than the SC/PR? Could it be the WP holders close proximity with the dorm workers? Or are they the workers under the same line of work but not staying in the dorms?

Still do not understand where this "local community" caught the virus. It will help if the gov could advise us about the possible locations where they were infected.

The daily Whatsapp data report is not very helpful, more info and stats can be found on MOH website.

Actually on the MOH website in the situation reports they have the numbers lumped together so not possible to analyze this sort of details, or is there some other place?

There's probably a significant socio-economic component to COVID-19.

Essential services has been operating nonstop during the entire circuit breaker (15-20% of the entire workforce), and front line workers comprising service staff, supermarkets, restaurants, retail, bus drivers, Grab/Taxis, dorm dwellers etc would be a lot more exposed than white collar work-from-home locals & expats Zoom'ing in front of their screens all day.
