Study and Work in Singapore for future career path.

Post by kim.mie » Thu, 12 Dec 2024 3:51 pm

Hi everyone, Im currently living in Singapore and holding DP. I think its never too late to study and start my career, I graduated from a Vietnamese International Uni couple years ago, and I love doing sales, marketing and designs, so could you please advise me on which school, diploma/degree/certificate I should take and how long would it be. Would it be ok to study and work at the same time?

Thank you for your time reading this and appreciate any advise you would give. :D

You can research on the private schools here..many courses available as long as you have the interest to pursue. As for studying and working at the same time, you could do so, but I think it is darn tiring and probably not be able to do well in either...

You are also limited or not allowed to work if on a student visa, depending on whether it's a commercial school or government links one. Limited working hours to be sure.

I think OP is looking for a pathway to work in Singapore via study, unfortunately, there is no such pathway in Singapore, unless you join one of the top universities in a niche stream that is in very high demand and you find a job after that and your employer is willing to pay you enough to get you an employment pass.

Singapore is not like Australia or Ireland where you can study and you get a 2 year post study visa to find a job easily and then eventually get a work visa and residency.

If your aim is that, then I would suggest explore studying in places like New Zealand. While you are studying, your spouse can accompany you and even work in New Zealand and there is an easy path to residency.
