Is there really a point to raising the paid-up capital / issued share capital of a company? It's a serious question from someone who isn't fluent in all these accountancy issues - I just don't see why the company's account balance isn't the most important thing. Just as a data point: I started my c...

Re: Visa Run FROM Singa?? Requirements

Why haven't you tried for the LTVSP you need to document you have been in a relationship, before arriving! do a search on here, there is plenty of people in the same boat! Though the boyfriend must be in the income bracket to show he can support you as far as I know. I doubt they can get an LTSVP i...

Anybody? First rule of being an expat: never accept a lower salary. So if you earn A$200k now, and they offer you anything less than S$250k, then tell them to take a hike. They'll try to tell you expenses in Sg are lower yadda yadda, and they may even be right, but what happens if you accept a lowe...

Just an update on this: the finalists were Relocasia and Oxford, and Oxford shot themselves in the feet so repeatedly that Relocasia won pretty much by default. Let's compare! Oxford: - took a week to come up with a vague two-line quote - took the better part of a week to reply to my request for a s...

Poor coachtravel - doesn't it seem ridiculous? Surely with an IC and the name of the landlords the government would have their address recorded and filed somewhere... Of course it does, it's just not handed out for privacy reasons. What amazes me is that this is the same country where I'm expected ...

Unfortunately you can't skip the last rental payment. They need to inform you in writing and also produce a proper receipt of such things, they can't pluck numbers out of thin air! You shouldn't do either, but both happen regularly. Not paying your last rent is tricky, because they can legally kick...

I will look him up... It's a company. http://www.harryelias.com.sg/ As for the fees, actually I have no idea what lawyer fees are like in Singapore. Is $500/hour quite usual, or is it towards the higher end? Definitely toward the higher end. Gotta pay those Raffles Place rents somehow  (Discl...

Do it on a regular daily basis, maybe twice a day. Not only does it purify the body, ie take the toxins out of the body, it eases tension headaches and is also a good prevention for colds and coughs. Stops snoring at night too as it clears the unwanted mucus in a person's respiratory system....
