Yeah, and you can get plastic surgery to change your face and a fake passport from a different country to match. But both of these are a lot harder and more expensive than just doing a deed poll to change your name...

Unless the lease allows them to do that (and it should not!), then you do not have to accept their request. If you do, then the compensation for breaking the contract is a matter for you and the landlord to decide.
