Greetings from Down Under -- our move is finally complete and I thought I'd recap the story for y'all. In a nutshell, Relocasia in Singapore were simply amazing. They showed up as promised -- and unlike the usual Singapore approach of sending in a truckload of foreign workers, our moving crew consis...

Dunno about construction, but no way an en-bloc would be completed from start of filing to start of demolition in 3 months -- lead times are usually one year plus. It's a long, complicated process: getting everybody's approval is only the first step, it's negotiating with the buyers that takes time,...

JP - It would appear that finally the gov't is relenting a wee bit on the Race ploy on NRICs. Mine was changed about a decade ago from "Others" to "Caucasian" and recently (this month) the policy was changed for newborns and kids up to the age of 15 to change their race from the "father's" race to ...

I'm interested to know why you think this is relevant ? is Singapore not overwhelming Chinese anyway with or without quota ? With the size of GRC electoral boundaries, do you really think the presence of racial quotas would make a difference in voting patterns ? Of course: it makes it impossible to...

No. If you hold a passport from a country with visa-free entry, then you'll receive a Social Visit Pass on arrival that's converted into the EP afterwards, and if you don't, your EP approval letter is an SVP as well. Just bring along a printout in case the airline asks any questions.

And that is why, in the majority of HDB heartland estates, some neighbours have lived next door to another family for a decade and have never spoken to them. That is by choice / personality and not though the lack of effort from the Government in integration. Did you ever pause to think about why t...

Given the sheer cost of shipping stuff halfway around the world, odds are pretty high that you'll save a bundle by selling off your furniture and buying it new in Singapore. Most all rental apartments in Sg come fully furnished anyway.

I don't believe in giving up and let's just fine print this that maybe what you're trying to say to any expat who reads this forum is go back to your own country which is not really a nice thing to say. I know what the reality is AND it can be changed if you keep trying :) You've been trying for a ...

And using public utilities since then as well? And next year my husband will have paid taxes "for the period we were in Singapore this FY" which includes this month, this day, this year! That kind of statement is so divisive. Frankly, this is a country where expats comprise a large percentage of po...
