Re: New in Town

Most of us over 50's are a lot younger at heart than that so tend to gravitate to the 40's (and 30's if we can get away with it. We used to have a FNDC before our 'hostess with the mostest' pass away and it kind of fell apart. Then covid happened and for the last two years virtually squat happening.

Re: PR Approval Probability 2021

If it "makes me think" etc, etc. Then it's only an assumption.

Re: Singapore citizenship approval waiting time and likelihood

Approval pretty much assured. Length of time? How long is a piece of string. Patience, my friend, is a virtue. With covid any answer we give regarding length of time is likely to be incorrect.

Re: Navigating quaruntine & LTVP

Why do you think you should be treated any differently than anybody else coming here in the same situation. If you don't you run the risk of being turned around and sent home and losing your job as well. THAT is expensive. Takes all kinds, especially considering you are attempting all this with covi...

Re: Advice on SC application

She does have a valid point as after the age of 38 if a woman has never had a pregnancy, she is considered a high risk for pregnancy with the possibility of a Downs Syndrome child is several magnitudes higher (this is only a factor if it is an initial first pregnancy. Subsequent pregnancies are not ...

Re: How to lose weight?

Dieting is a prescription to correct an imbalance in the body. Some diets do not do this but only cause weight loss. What need retraining/reprogramming is the serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is what causes/triggers your insulin response. It is also what causes cravings. That was the beauty ...

Re: How to lose weight?

midlet2013, your eating habits are somewhat similar to mine. In the past 5 weeks according to my scales this morning, I've lost 6.2kg in 5 weeks. *I still eat my main meals based according to my weight loss program of 14 years ago. only the weights are not strict, slightly more but not enough to off...

Re: Advice

Sorry, I overlooked your inclusion of your son on the family application. But that notwithstanding, I also think your age, his age, and the fact that you apparently are still in the same industry may make you a flight risk even now. I will retract the 'no way in hell' to a 60:40 in your favour. But ...

Re: Advice on SC application

Probably a done deal. You just need to have patience. Patience is a virtue. No way being ethnically chinese and able to prove it and accepted considered a negative. However, all normal timelines for both PR & SGC are all out of whack due to covid and short staffing/WFH & back and forth. At this poin...

Re: Advice

Help me out here. If you and your wife have been PRs since 2002, that is 19 year as a PR correct? Your son is 16 and you are claiming born in Singapore (no issue) on S Pass? Who was on an S pass? He couldn't be on an S pass (if you are implying a Student Visa it is not an S pass) and he could not h...

Re: Singapore PR Chances 2021

Newbies trying to make waves is being respectful. Especially considering you are coming from a country that still uses the caste system I believe I'd try to tone it down a little. Where I come from my elders and parents always told me to the make sure you sweep off your own back porch before talking...

Re: Singapore PR Chances 2021

I dont get it, so I need 100 posts to raise any concerns about racism? :???: No. Hopefully by the time you get to 100 posts, your skin may (maybe?) get a little bit thicker as at the moment you are pretty thin-skinned. You won't get far that way and you probably actually have something to c...

Re: Singapore PR Chances 2021

Given the current political climate I thought the hot topic being contended is foreigners-taking-the-jobs, so I believe its the EP numbers that will trickle down and thats probably the knob the gahmen might use for political purposes. I dont think the 2200 PRs distributed per year to Indians matter...

Re: Working freelance in Singapore

Oh, and seeing your confusion between the two terms, you can call IRAS as ask your question but phrase it wrongly and you will probably get two different answers especially if you don't realize there are two different terms in play.
