Re: Where will you retire?

Enlighten me, what’s the point of being a permanent resident if you’re not going to be here permanently like what the name suggests? Aren’t you just depriving other deserving applicants a PR vacancy? Just milk SG for its worth for your benefit during your younger years and say buhbye when it’s conv...

Re: Where will you retire?

Food, groceries and buying a property are cheaper in most parts of the US from what I can see. Now healthcare - I'm not sure how that goes - I think for a retiree, that might possibly tip the balance.

Re: Coding School for Kids

The best way in my opinion is to simply get started with a compiler and a book. That's the way I did it when I was a kid in the late 80s and early 90s, long before we had the internet and before IT became what it is today. Lessons learned for life - I now work in IT.

Re: Keeping Condo Gym Open

I’ve been thinking about registering for a membership at anytime fitness (there’s one 800m from my condo) but haven’t found any membership fees online. If you don’t mind sharing, how much does the membership cost you and how long is the commitment period? Sure no problem. I'm paying on a monthly ba...

Re: Keeping Condo Gym Open

Our gym is open although I am not too clued in on how they manage things because I prefer working out at anytime fitness (I lift some serious weight). Edit I just looked for their announcement. This might help you :. Approach Security Guardhouse to register and obtain the Gymnasium Access Card Resi...

Singapore planning to boost the local stock market

Most of us here who invest, know that the SGX is a small pond with listings of companies caught on the wrong side of the 21st century. I'll be watching with interest, but I'm mostly skeptical about the expected outcome. What are your thoughts? https://www.asiaone.com/money/singapore-reportedly-plann...

Re: Where will you retire?

Fortunately my wife and and kids are a more flexible on the food side. Thank goodness for that, because no matter where you go, local food is typically the best food. The US is no exception in that regard. My list of go-to places seems to grow longer each time we visit. And, you might be surprised,...

Re: Where will you retire?

By the way, I just want to say this for all the US folks. I've been to the US a few times - around the west coast. It is absolutely beautiful - especially California where you have everything from beaches and ocean to mountains and snow. Except for the food part (I'm biased towards Asia), I think th...

Yep. Very easy to implement. They've suspended online bookings of course. Also, workouts are mask free which is compliant with the minimum guidelines from the gahmen.

Re: new coca cola ad featuring Sg migrant workers + cool drone

7 years on. Thanks to what looks like a spammer bumping up this post, I looked in at the original YouTube video to see how many people have viewed it. After all, it's impact would be judged on that basis. Less views = less impact and would validate the skepticism by some in this post. Turns out that...

True caller does a fairly decent job assuming that the number is in their database and flagged for spam.
Is it free?
Free version has worked OK for me so far.

I was always under the impression that Pakistanis, Sri Lankans and Bangladeshis were all classified as Indians. What does it say on your ID card?

Re: Singapore Citizenship approved after 32 months

Did you get a huge pay increment? I think SF did mention based on your earlier pay that your salary is on the lower side. Then again, whether changing jobs tipped the scales in your favor…we won’t know either 60k for a 28 year old isn't too shabby is it? 60k for a 28 year old generally? pretty good...
