Re: Malls in the city seems quieter

I prefer suntec city. I used to be intimidated by the large crowds before COVID so I would frequent quieter malls, but now that COVID has calmed down I have once again returned.

Re: Higher floors are quieter?

Definitely think higher floors are louder if you are staying in a unit facing the road. Conversely, if your condo is more secluded, the lower floors will receive the bulk of any noise, whereas those on higher floors will find the noise to be more faint.

Re: Any low budget sport activity in SG for company events?

Any that promotes teamwork. My suggestions are laser tag, paintball, or maybe even bubble soccer, although bubble soccer is probably a little too pricey to be played on a large scale.

Re: Any low budget language courses?

You can try duolingo. It is an app that teaches all sorts of different language, including Spanish, English, French, and Mandarin, among others. The best part is that its free. I’ve found it to be quite useful.

Re: PSLE 98.4% can progress to Secondary School

Didn’t they change to the new PSLE scoring system? If I remember correctly they do not give a numeric score anymore, precisely to remove the uneven emphasis on the score.

Re: Local schools for foreigner

Unfortunately, I think the chances are very slim. And even so, if your child does gain admission into a local school, it will probably be one of the less reputable, less popular options among locals (hence the vacancies). You can pretty much forget about the name brand schools like RGPS, MGS, or NYP...

Re: Local grown aloe vera

Yes, I have 2 aloe plants in my house. They require little care, and the aloe vera gel it produces can be used in a multitude of ways. My personal favorites are to soothe sunburns and to moisturize dry skin. It is important to note that it is difficult to use the aloe gel straight from the plant; I ...

Re: Lab-grown cultured meat in Singapore

I’m not too concerned with the fact that it is “unnatural”. I like that it is a more sustainable option compared to farm harvested meat. As far as I know, the lab-grown meat is identical to that you would find on a farm. I’m excited to give it a try!

Re: Korean BBQ Lover

I haven’t been before, will be sure to check it out. My personal favorite is Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ, at Tanjong Pagar. There is a huge concentration of Korean restaurants near Tanjong Pagar, but Wang Dae Bak is my favorite.

Re: Who makes the best German Chocolate Cake in Singapore?

I know this is past when you needed it so I hope you managed to find one. However, I must say that German chocolate cake is not a very big thing in Singapore so I doubt there are many bakers who have it as one of their specialties. The best thing I can think of would maybe be having a baker do a cus...

Put up a listing on SG car mart. It’s the biggest online platform to sell your car and if it is in good condition and listed at a reasonable price you’re sure to get interest very quickly.

Re: Newer car or COE car?

There is a saying that a car loses half its value the minute it drives off the dealership lot. While this figure is inaccurate what it means to emphasize is how quickly cars depreciate as soon as they are purchased, even if they have not been used for very long or very often. Particularly in Singapo...

for me it’s definitely some good southern barbecue. I grew up in Florida, so some coleslaw, ribs, corn on the cob, and mac & cheese just reminds me of home.

I do not recommend Sim Lim square. The sales people there are pushy, unfriendly, and very aggressive. Try Funan, you’ll have better luck there.

A very reputable professional speaker and corporate trainer named David Goldwich does communication courses and workshops among other topics. He did some work for my company a few years back with great results. You can find him online or at davidgoldwich.com if I remember correctly.
