Re: PR Chance 2020

Sometimes I see weird suggestions here, like marrying local, having kids early (within 1st -2nd year of marriage) and that’s too for getting just PR which is very uncertain. I wonder who are going to do this only for the purpose of getting PR. What's weird about marrying a local? No one is suggesti...

Re: <NEED ADVICE> Expat - Got new job with joining date in 2 months, but has 3 months notice period

Oh and by the way, honestly, I wouldn't have minded flying back to India. On company expense. It turned out that since I served my notice period in Singapore, between jobs I did fly back to visit family but on my own expense. :/

Obviously, this was a long time ago, pre covid.

Re: <NEED ADVICE> Expat - Got new job with joining date in 2 months, but has 3 months notice period

Right. He should probably tell that to the HR guy instead of over thinking and asking for solutions to imaginary scenarios. Like I stated earlier, regardless of the silly rule, most managers and HRs are human beings and are likely to work something out. They are also pragmatic - Sending him back to ...

Re: Cover letter, testimonial, volunteer work upload? but WHERE?

Sorry if I've rubbed your fur the wrong way. The sarcasm is brought on directly by the BS posted by some members of this forum. Eventually, even long-stayers and moderators can only put up with so much useless shit that we have to go off the rails occasionally just to keep our sanity in what is bec...

Bonus less than half of pre covid. No increment but they have gone public to say that they will roll out increments around June.

Re: Cover letter, testimonial, volunteer work upload? but WHERE?

During the days when you had to submit your docs at the ICA, I handed over a "cover letter" along with photocopies of the mandatory documents. It was promptly turned down by the officer. The previous time I had applied, the officer did accept it, but in hindsight, I realize that it probably ended up...

@Observer. Are you sure this is the rule? I don't think MOM has anything to do with deputation/transfer while issuing IPA? If this the rule which you mentioned, the hiring company HR should also be aware. Yes, I too feel the same. If that's a rule, hiring company would be aware of it by now. HR eve...

Re: <NEED ADVICE> Expat - Got new job with joining date in 2 months, but has 3 months notice period

Hi All, I'm new here. Been going through all the posts. And thought , why not ask here  I'm currently working in SG on EP for an Indian based IT company. Re: PR appeal success stories

I concur with the theory that reapplying after an appeal was rejected might result in success. This is what happened to me recently. Rejected in 2018, appealed, rejected about a month later. Reapplied in 2019 with a new job and 2 salary increments since the rejection. Success in 2019. Obviously, eac...

I see I have got two likes for my first post, from @smoulder and @juggernaut. Would you two like to contribute, or do you want me to fight (for you and your fellow Indians) by myself? Indians have a bad rep already for being weaklings - as much as I don't like racist posts against you guys, I have ...
