Re: Grade 5 Boy Falls to Death after Failing Exams for the First Time

Your daughter sounds like my daughter who went to CHIJ Toa Payoh from Primary 1 thru A's. She definitely doesn't look Singaporean but does look Mediterranean or Spanish and has brown hair and a kopi susu+ complexion. She speaks perfect English, perfect singlish and reasonably good Mandarin and unde...

I’ve been thinking about starting for quite some time, it’s just so hard to take the first step because I love my carbs!

Re: Grade 5 Boy Falls to Death after Failing Exams for the First Time

My daughter has gone to local schools all her life, and has never been bullied. That may have something to do with her personality, or the fact that the schools were pretty prestigious so the children were better behaved and more well socialized. She doesn’t pass as Singaporean in terms of looks or ...

Is that available here in chewable form? I’m only aware of the chalky pink liquid form of Pepto (for me, it will trigger a gag reflex).
Try tums. They are chewable and flavored. You can get them on lazada or amazon.

Re: best coffee maker

I am a bit of a lean freak when it comes to process efficiency. It’s 10 seconds to scoop the ground coffee into the pot, dispense the hot water and cover. I then tell Siri to set a timer for 6 minutes and go take a shower. Once the timer is up, it’s 10 seconds to strain, add milk & stir. Total time...

Re: Korean BBQ Lover

The Gogi is really specialized in “at the table” self-BBQ... I haven’t really tried anything else there. For non-BBQ Korean, I’m also looking for a good one since Koryo at Fusionopolis closed several years ago, that one was cheap & good. Definitely would be giving this a try..looking for a nice aut...

Re: What hair care products should I use?

I am simple with my hair care, usually get my products at Watsons. Shampoo, conditioner and serum after wash. Nothing fancy so long as it works. Over the years, I’ve found Watsons to be incredibly overpriced. Same goes for guardian, although their stuff is slightly cheaper. I suggest you look into ...

Yes! Hopefully this technology can be brought to Singapore soon, it’ll probably streamline the delivery process and cut down on fees!

Re: PR Application 2021 possibility

There is always a chance, since you have already applied there is nothing more that you can do except wait. It’s good tat you have stayed here for some time and have purchased government housing, it shows intent to settle down. On the other hand, your salary is on the low side but I doubt it will be...

Re: PR approval chances 2021 and advice

The biggest worries are your low pay and your lack of work experience. It helps that you have studied in local institutions and are on a bond. I think it may be best to wait until you finish serving your bond. By then, you would have lived in SG for 10 years, worked for 3, and you may have a higher ...

Re: SMS from Amazon

NEVER open such texts. And if you already have, never click on the link. It’s a pretty well known scam for scammers to pose as large corporations. Once you click the link, they gain access to you device and your information. When in doubt, its best to contact amazon directly.

Re: How to become a tutor?

You can consider becoming a private tutor. The pay is better, you choose your own hours, and you can decide how many students to take. The only difficulty is finding students within such a competitive market. As far as I’m aware, you don’t need to apply for any sort of license or permit.

Re: Average cost for a language tutor?

If by mandarin tutor you a personal tutor who will teach according to the more syllabus, expect to pay $400-$600 per month for 4 2 hour sessions. This comes out to around $50-$75 per hour. Alternatively, you can choose to enroll your child in a tuition centre, but 1-on-1 usually generates the best r...
