So you're basically saying there's no chance of anyone getting a job unless you have a professional qualification or are of management level? Does anyone know anything about Teaching Assistant jobs? Would I be able to get a visa to do that? Thanks If you plan to get married and you do it eventually...

(Sorry for bringing this old thread up!) and have been working in the field for almost 2 years. So wondering how hard did you find looking for a scientific job in SG? And in addition, I will be hunting from the UK, do you reckon the distance will be an off-putting factor for possible employers? If ...

Re: Giving part time help a set of keys?

For the time being, I will leave my door unlocked on the day she comes over to clean (when I am out at work) but I am thinking of giving her a set of the keys. I am just wondering how many of you are doing the same, and how many of you give your part time help a set of keys (so that they can come o...

About the government, I think SMS has been very vocal about it, that the PAP is practically THE government (opposition? what opposition?!? the leader is in exile!) and the same government has its control deeply entrenched into people's personal lives. Am I the only one here who thinks that to large...

Gotta say Sg Boy, that Singa's pretty damned good for expats. It's safe and clean and almost everything is available, There's an oustanding airport and a well-run taxi-service with courteous drivers. Now I am confused. Apparently not everything you said here can be sarcastic meaning there is no sar...

Combine it with a vacation, go to Vietnam, you will not believe the quality and the choice, although friends now tell me Cambodia is better, but you are now living in a region rich in artistic talent. Singapore art dealers do this and then charge a significant premium and you do not have as wide a ...

Re: Best place to buy Computer Hardware in Singapore?

I wont reccomand you to Sim Lim. Honestly, consider the place you go when you are shopping for hardwares or softwares. I have personal doubts about that place. It is indeed a one-stop IT mall.. However, the place does not provide a one-stop price. SLS is highly recommended (for this kind of parts)....

the first time i encountered the "king of fruits" i was a kid and wanted to die. yes. it was that bad. these days, i actually enjoy the smell and eat it occasionally. like, eat it-eat it. Got it right on my first day I arrived to SG. I like the fresh fruit from time to time but don't like...

Re: Class 2 license

I have already passed my BTT, but due to a multitude of unfortunate events, haven't applied for a driving license yet. Lack of time, system down at the traffic police office (I didn't think these things could happen in Singapore :o ), etc etc... I used to ride a 500 cc motorbike back in my home cou...
