Re: Buy from Amazon, deliver by Vpost

It seems that the experience ranges from "they're ok," to "so hard to deal with. also very slow" and to finally, "they charged me so much AND they lost my packages--I cast a hex on these people" If anyone tried this before, I'd like to hear about your experience. I hav...

Good rant Vaucluse. Unfortunately a rather pointless rant. It was outside Compass Point and the nearest toilet was (I am not joking) 30 seconds away. She had just walked past it on her way out! There is no way you can justify this. As an exercise for future challenges justify this one. A friend of ...

Re: Bank with best Online Banking (inc int'l transfer)?

It looks like I'll be relocating to Singapore, from the UK, in a couple of months. In considering which bank to go with, I'm most interested in the online banking facility. Ideally, I'd like a bank that would allow me to make transfers of cash to my UK bank account online, using the SWIFT/IBAN code...

I have also seen a lot of spitting from the older generation here over 50's and from less affluent backgrounds, though they will spit in the bin, if there is a bin to be found otherwise it's wham! at the feet of others, but not done intentionally in most cases. Habits die hard and some never die at...

Re: Used or re-furbished labtop

Does anyone know a place where you can buy a used or refurbished labtop? I just need for Internet and Skype so it doesn't have to be the latest model.... If anyone of you have one for sale let me know :) As SE mentioned there are some outlets in SLS but I found their pricing not really reasonable. ...

I might get one of those camera with motion detection thingy. Does DIY shops sell them? Or any suggestions on where I can look around for such things. Yes, they do - at least I recall seeing one some time ago in the DIY shop at Jelita. If not, local ebay sellers should have plenty of them. You have...

Hi there, well, when I accepted the Australian citizenship at 8 years old, I hardly knew what I was doing... I did not aim at you. Just general observation. It is hard to stay loyal to a country when you are not a first class citizen. I mean Australia is a great place but in the corporate workplace...

Twotribez, you probably got to the point majority of people nowadays will never reach. You understood that accepting another country citizenship should also include loyalty and commitment. For vast majority it is just a mechanical procedure to improve their comfort of living or social status.

If you have had a de facto spouse ICA (or MOM, I really can't remember which of the two but I think ICA) does give out a DP. Ok econoMIC, I have no reason not to believe you :) We have never applied for DP but I clearly remember how much trouble we had to complete all the paperwork for LTSVP - basi...

or try Furniture Mall - we were just there over the weekend and they had a couple of decent stores who specialize in wood/teak pieces. I think they were on the 3rd floor. I can recommend Unicane (http://www.unicane.com/) truly quality service and products. They are pretty far away to the West but t...

First you will need your High Commission to issue you a letter stating that you have been co-habitating and that you are de facto spouses. The High Commission in Singapore should be familiar with this. If I am not mistaken though the DP is issued by ICA, or is it MOM? I doubt that even confirmed co...

Would I be able to get a visa to do that? Thanks If you plan to get married and you do it eventually...
