Re: Best place to buy Computer Hardware in Singapore?

I wont reccomand you to Sim Lim. Honestly, consider the place you go when you are shopping for hardwares or softwares. I have personal doubts about that place. It is indeed a one-stop IT mall.. However, the place does not provide a one-stop price. SLS is highly recommended (for this kind of parts)....

Damn!! My license doesn't have a classification (for motorbikes) like they have in Singapore... Well, so be it then... 2B... Thnx for the reply nevertheless... [..] Edited this part out after reading SE message - yes, indeed only 3, 3a and 2b to go for conversion so it looks like your choice is lim...

the first time i encountered the "king of fruits" i was a kid and wanted to die. yes. it was that bad. these days, i actually enjoy the smell and eat it occasionally. like, eat it-eat it. Got it right on my first day I arrived to SG. I like the fresh fruit from time to time but don't like...

Re: Class 2 license

I have already passed my BTT, but due to a multitude of unfortunate events, haven't applied for a driving license yet. Lack of time, system down at the traffic police office (I didn't think these things could happen in Singapore :o ), etc etc... I used to ride a 500 cc motorbike back in my home cou...

Re: So how was yr earthquake experience yesterday?

..I was on my 23rd story flat and for 2 minutes I was convinced that the juice I am having is spiked :-) My wife in the other room lied down on the bed thinking she is not well....until our more worldly wise PH maid came out of her room - all shrieking and crying - and then all hell broke loose !!!...

hi x9200. first of all, thanks for the reply. but, do you have experienced this yourself and you got it in 3 weeks? the next big question is, who is then the people making up the 80% who got their EP done within seven days? again, thanks. Yes, this is mine experience. I used to be on EP2 and the fi...

hi, i'm in the nervous situation myself. i've got a job here, and my company submitted the EP application more than a week ago. but, the status of my application is still pending input from vetting agencies. Now, the thing is I got a degree from NTU. I've worked here for about 1.5 years and another...

Re: Making friends with the locals

... the point is that both the locals and the expats like to go out and have few drinks but it looks like the locals are afraid to do it together with the expats. Never seen this problem before. Take your NS mates out for an evening and you can get wasted with them. No problem at all. Got quite a f...

Re: Making friends with the locals

If it comes to any drinking gathering I found locals showing pretty much reserve in active participation - loosing face syndrome if they get drunk as per my guess. This may be a factor sometimes. You haven't seen our local gals at Zouk on Friday & Saturday's & Ladies nights then, have you! ...

Re: Making friends with the locals

Correct! That is why I enjoy it. People do not end up drunk, vomiting all over the place and starting to talk rubbish unlike here in the UK. Go out with friends and past 10PM it is "uncool" to not be drunk and make yourself look like a total wally. I had many sessions at Brewerkz with my ...

Re: Making friends with the locals

I hate seeing pure expat groups together. There are some regulars at Brewerkz every Friday night and never ever do they have any locals in their midst. What I do not understand is that if you were back home you maybe would never speak to each other but just because you are in a foreign place all th...

So why are you posting it here for your first post? Wouldn't it be better to post it on sgforums? Isn't that where all the locals go to whinge and b*tch? Isn't it the case with 50% of the first posts being whiny people who feel they have been insulted by bad service or disrespectful attitude...

This is definitely not limited only to Caucasians. My boyfriend lives on the East Coast and it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to speak to you in his condo. Geez, SPEAK if you are going to take the time and stare at someone's face for a whole minute!!!! Just rude!!!! :x Off my soapbox, continue ...
