Just for fun, here's a shot of me under the Seacrest in 1983, seeing you mentioned them..... If you are wondering, It's a KMB-9 with bailout bottle! ;-) I was not really wondering as I was really busy in kindergarden at the time the picture was taken... way before my time! But here is a tip if you ...

Awesome guys - since it's only been 2 weeks for me, I am not ALL too familiar with the bar scenes. However, there is an Irish bar right under The Sail @ Marina Bay. I think they happy hours until 7:30 (2 for 1). Any other half decent ones near by? There are tons, but they are all pretty much the sa...

How deep are you talking? Air or tech dive? If you make weekend liveaboard trips from SG can you go in two directions: up the coast of Malaysia, typically to Tioman or Dayang. In the last weeks have the Malaysian authorities drastically raised some fees for diving, to the point that nobody sane wou...

Hi! My wife and I are pretty active divers doing typically some 4 to 5 weekends and two dive trips a year... there are quite a couple of clubs, especially corporate ones. So if you happen to work in a large company, especially of the financial type, is there a good chance that you don't need to look...

Just for future reference: Chijmes was a good place to be - if you are looking for a seriously large crowd and not necessarily the most comfort. Pros: - location. the layout of the place makes the crowd look bigger than it is and it is the closest thing you get to "stadium"... - crowd. I'd say easil...

Chijmes manages to completely avoid mentioning football on their website... but that was always the case and since they showed the semi finals in full length as well as all Euro games is it a safe bet for tonight.

Hi! I will go to Chijmes - which has been an awesome place to watch the last Euro: big screen, all outdoor and tons of people. Not sure if this was the case for all games or if it simply happens to be the place of choice for the German football community in SG. Either way probably the right place to...

I tried the same last year -get some people together for lunch in CBD to meet some new faces. Lots of posts, nobody really comitting a day or time. I'd still be up for it. My lesson learned was: Announce it at least a week in advance as people are not checking this forum too regularly. So why not ma...

Ok, I am a reasonably experienced diver and spend pretty much all my freetime on the hobby since I moved here... some thoughts: The wife and I have our own equipment and on many sites we know don't need a guide - so we know exactly what we want and then can go for the cheapest offer. You on the othe...

Well, I lived in Zurich for a couple of years myself before coming here (hence the CH in the nickname...). Even I picked up some funny Swiss words. The first time I said by mistake "Gruezi" in a shop when visiting home got me stares as if I was from another planet...

Re: Halo! Ich bin Ambidexter!

Guete Morge! First we gotta get that Swiss German slang out of you... I'll understand you but only cause I lived as a German in Zurich before. My wife is doing A2 at the moment and already set up a weekly study meeting with some friends... but some Stammtisch or similar with more people sounds fun ...

I am a fitness first member and go to the "body combat" classes about twice per week with my wife. Either ORQ (little sidenote: The group fitness room is currently closed for renovations) or Millenia Walk. Will check out the new MBFC one soon as well. Making new friends and appointments to keep is p...

Just a short feedback - went to Chijmes yesterday at 2.00 am to watch the game. Great venue, lots of people - especially given that it is a school night, good atmosphere and loads of screens, so everyone will be able to see... Will go there again for sure, but I can imagine that it gets really full ...
