Re: Can EP holder with an MNC work as part time teacher in a private institute?

Did you even bother to read the posters initial post? He works in a Software company, not a consulting or educational facility. Obviously I did because the post you quoted contains the word "software" more than once. Apparently you're assuming that an inter-company contractual arrangement to obtain...

Re: How can I move back to Singapore?

Her PR just expired and I am not renewing it. OK, her green card expired. However, if she was a long-term resident then the mere expiration of her green card has zero impact on her IRS and Treasury responsibilities -- they continue. In that case, she has to file IRS Form 8854 to "check out." Checki...

That's correct, although there are ways around it.

Re: Help for my foreign Wife

As a "Plan B," conceivably she could deliver in Hong Kong, a city with high frequency airline links with Singapore. Presumably the baby would also then acquire Hong Kong permanent residence status. The quality of care is high, although the cost is probably higher, too.

How about we let Samgeh123 make that judgment?

I bend over backwards to be polite to fellow posters. I wish that comity were reciprocated.

Re: How can I move back to Singapore?

My mom do have a US PR. Not the best idea if she's not actually living in the United States since she is subject to U.S. tax and financial reporting. How long as she been a U.S. permanent resident? Yes, Cisco is laying off 14,0000 employees. 5,500 actually , about 7% of its workforce. The 14,000 fi...

Re: Help for my foreign Wife

There's no "conversion." Here are the details . Either your baby is able to be documented as a Singaporean citizen or not, and, if so, you document your baby's citizenship. Your baby is also likely to be born a citizen of China. Under present law, upon reaching adulthood, your child will have to mak...

Re: Can EP holder with an MNC work as part time teacher in a private institute?

Hang on a minute! Scenario: EP holder working full time for an executive consulting firm doing executive consulting. An institute (otherwise known as a prospective customer) wants him/her to spend a few hours coaching groups of executives in a classroom setting instead of one-on-one. (Maybe coaching...

Re: How can I move back to Singapore?

However, been a single female... I am a bit nervous about living in Malaysia not knowing where is a safe area... That should be easy enough to research. Start by looking where Singaporeans are retiring in Johor. Statistically, on a national basis, Malaysia's homicide rate is much lower than that of...

Re: S-pass application: no record found

Samgeh123 asked about working with the MoM during Sundays and public holidays. Maybe we could try to be maximally helpful to those asking for help -- and say "thank you" when responders are earnestly trying to help instead of insulting them? It just might make this forum a more popular, more attract...

Re: Help for my foreign Wife

Airlines vary. For example, Singapore Airlines allows pregnant women to fly through their 28th week without any restrictions and, for a few weeks thereafter, with a doctor's permission. As another example, Air China does not require any doctor's permission before the 32nd week. ....But always use go...

Re: Financial Advice Please - Young couple relocating confused about taxes/saving etc

To answer the home savings part of your question, I assume you're referring to the Help to Buy ISA. You can open and contribute to such an ISA while you are still a U.K. resident, up to the maximum initial deposit plus any subsequent months (at up to 200 pounds/month) while you're still a U.K. resid...

Re: How can I move back to Singapore?

I was working in Cisco Systems here and wanted to take a job transfer Singapore Cisco Systems. That was what I heard from the hiring manager. He could be wrong.... He's wrong . There's Malaysia's My Second Home program, and your mother could take a bus to visit you in Johor. Or she could also becom...

My wife was deported from Singapore two years ago after ICA revoked her LTVP.... She was prohibited from entering singapore for 6 years.... Well, you can try sponsoring her for a LTVP to deliver a child in Singapore . There is a fee to lodge an application, please note. Unfortunately it's extremely...
