Re: (Advice Needed) Can apply LTVP while PR still pending...

...so now I will bring my daughter to JB to get another 30days stay in Singapore while waiting for the PR result. That's called a "visa run." I don't recommend it. There's no need to try to do something "sneaky" here, and she might not be let back in! Basic rule: don't act like a crook if you aren'...

Re: New EP Online Application

Of course we're not counting the Jobs Bank/Fair Consideration Framework part of the end-to-end process if applicable. That step comes before EP submission, so you're past that step now if it was applicable.

Re: Need advice on my PR application

Good points, particularly the point about PR status changing the private automobile expense equation tremendously if that's a consideration. PR status also means forced savings of a particular sort and magnitude (CPF deductions), so cash flow drops in exchange for the promise of a future payout in f...

Re: Need advice on my PR application

You wait for 3 years slowly then. HDB can only be bought after 3 years of permanent residency. And only resale unit (not BTO) with resale unit price with COV on top of that. And the money you're spending to buy a HDB? You may as well buy a mansion in Malaysia. All true, but let's suppose the idea h...

Re: Need advice on my PR application

In fact, i would like to buy a HDB rather than rent a house/room in singapore. So my long term plan is to have a PR first, then buy a HDB and move to SG. That's why at this moment I dont reside in SG It's likely that particular recipe isn't part of the Singaporean government's plan . Here are a few...

Re: PR for wife and Daughter

You obviously didn't read 'since 2012's post did you? Obviously I did, SMS. I think you missed the joke, even though it was marked as such. It's perhaps less funny if I have to explain it, but OK, here goes.... Since2012 paraphrased Goh Chok Tong's remark that after 10 years one becomes a de facto ...

Re: PR REJECTED SEPT 2015

Mss123, did your rejection letter suggest reapplying within a particular time? If it did, that's cause for a bit of optimism provided you follow the letter's advice and wait at least as long as the letter recommends before reapplying. If the letter did not, well.... :(

Re: PR for wife and Daughter

It'd also be interesting to see how the numbers of PR applications and citizenship applications have tracked over the years. The CNA article also notes that the net increase in foreign employment has decelerated over the past 4+ years. That's one way the pool of potential qualified PR applicants is ...

Re: Short term visitors pass.

You didn't lie. Your plans simply changed, and the entry permission you received provides enough flexibility. You have nothing to do except to enjoy your longer stay -- and still leave before your 90 days is up.

Re: HELP on pending for employment pass

Another possibility is if the position had to go to Jobs Bank (i.e. fixed monthly salary under $12,000) and Company A actually got a qualified Singaporean applicant but then cancelled the position. Then MOM is looking at a subsequent EP application from Company B with the same foreigner, also Jobs B...

Re: HELP on pending for employment pass

I suppose it's also possible MOM has concerns that Company B and Company A are not in reality completely separate, that they cooperate much more than they vigorously compete against each other, and that Company A (or the same client) is still going to enjoy some or all your services (improperly) tha...

Re: Citizenship application for PR family

From ICA's Web site in the Frequently Asked Questions section: "I wish to apply for Singapore citizenship for wife, children and myself. Why must I complete an application form for each person, as most of the information required has to be repeated? The application for Singapore citizenship is stipu...

Re: Best Credit Card for foreign exchange

Ahmed22, I'm a little confused. Are your U.S. dollars being deposited into a U.S. dollar-denominated bank account in Singapore, in the United States, or elsewhere? I understand you want a U.S. dollar card, but it matters (a lot) from where you're trying to spend funds.
