Re: Where should we consider staying!?

Apparently due first quarter of 2016, not sure how things work over here but if it was the UK I'd be taking a very large pinch of salt with the dates :)

For the OP that could make the trip to One North more straightforward from the Hillview area depending on exact location.

Re: The use of "Revert"

Well for me so far I have only heard it from Singaporeans, I work with quite a few Indians as well (most based in Hyderabad and some in Australia) and have not heard the same from them. Also I've spent the last 14 years in the UK (previously in NZ and arrived in Singapore in November) and have never...

Re: Where should we consider staying!?

Well I can't give as detailed advice as the others here as I only moved to Singapore in November. However I am living in Hillview which is kind of an offshoot of Bukit Batok, for reference I'm in a 2 bedroom furnished condo for $2900. I can't remember the square footage off the top of my head but it...

Yes you're right, he's the companies choice of consultant and they're paying the bills so I'll keep my head down and fill in whatever irrelevant forms he sends me. Once everything is sorted and I've actually relocated I'll have a quiet word with HR. If it falls through the word won't be so quiet :) ...

Yeah I'm not really sure what's in each one either. Reading that it also implies that the Police Certificate is only issued for emigration to the named countries. Oh well the form has been sent off and if it get's rejected I'll be asking the immigration consultant exactly what he is playing at, copi...

Well that is slightly different, that's a Data Protection request showing all information your local force has on you. The Police Certificate http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx for use with immigration (for countries like Australia, NZ the US but not Singapore) is details of your cri...

Believe me I'm taking notes which will be passed on to HR :) However at this stage I think I'll let things play out rather than getting into an argument which might delay things further. To be fair to the consultant, we are still waiting for the two weeks the job has to advertised on jobs bank to ex...

Police checks?

Hi all, I work for the UK subsidiary of a US tech company and have been offered a job in our Singapore office. To make things slightly more complicated the HR for Singapore is regional and based out of Australia. Therefore the company is using an Australian immigration consultant who is working with...

Thanks folks, That gives me something to work on. Looking on a couple of property sites it seems there are a bunch of condos around my budget (though I might need to settle for 1 bedroom) at Parc Rosewood which is at one end of Woodgrove and looks fairly handy for buses to the MRT and Woodlands cent...
