GND, this has been happening for well over 15 years now. In fact, shortly after they created the booking fees and raised them to a point to where if become profitable. This has been going on, randomly for the past years, but in recent months, it just seems to have gone beyond norm. It's almost impo...

Re: Cleaner being investigated by Ministry of Manpower

i think martin has the main reason why and i have to concur with his final statement. going MAY cause oneself to be in REAL trouble. if there are no legal reasons to compel the OP to go, why go? the use of "illegal cleaners" isn't really a major crime on a scale of things, and i (personally) really...

Re: Cleaner being investigated by Ministry of Manpower

I need advice. My cleaner of 2 years suddenly quit. I just got a call from ministry of manpower to come to their office to discuss her. Am I in trouble? She is a freelance phillipino cleaner who has been cleaning 5 of my friends condos for the last 3 years. I don't know her work visa status, I neve...

Fact (Jetstar) Although I ticked the box "pay later" and at the end of a long web trail the Payment section only gave me the right to pay by CC (no mention of SAM, 7-11 etc). After 2 calls to Jetstar and one local travel agent, zero resolution/conclusion/ satisfaction. I paid by CC so this brings m...

I had booked maid home flights twice on Cebu with CC and no issue. I just booked jetstar sg-MNL and noticed this requirement so opted to pay via SAM instead. You save the credit card fee this way too so probably would've done it anyway. You mean paying by SAM (Jetstar Sg-Manila) you do not have to ...

A pressure test on what? The internal gas system of the air-con - that's the only type of 'pressure-test' I've seen being done. Or some form of pressure test of your apartments internal plumbing system? I've not heard of the latter being tried, and am not sure if/how it could prove a leak at a spec...

A large area of upper wall where the air-con unit was positioned became 'dappled' in very fine pale green/white mold. You had to look at the wall a certain angle to even notice it really. This caused me congestion = snoring, = upset wife + tiredness. The dampness also caused mold to grow on our oth...

Yes I think that's an important distinction. "rent in lieu of notice" implies an earlier termination and the LL can re-rent. However if you are just giving notice and paying the rent for the notice period, then there is no early termination, and LL technically should not re-rent. However this also m...

Sometimes these issues get bogged down in arguments between the upstairs owner, condo mgmt and affected owner over responsibility/liability. Not sure if that's a reason here or you just have a lazy/irresponsible LL. good luck, I agree it seems a reasonable grounds to terminate taken together with th...

Well some of your suggestions are certainly interesting... But none are correct. To change citizenship for pure monetary gain would be a little shallow in my opinion. It's also not a stepping stone to another country. There are many advantages personally - to name just a few: I can start a family i...
