It might also depend if you are coming over as a single teacher, married, teaching couple etc. Most of my teacher friends receive an allowance which is included in their monthly salary. It's a pretty decent amount (depending on the school obvs.) So much that a couple of teachers i know have chipped ...

Best iOS App(s) for getting around Singapore

What apps do folk use for getting around Singapore? At the minute I use streetdirectory, mxdata (for MRT) and grab taxi. Any I'm missing or should be using that are better than what I've currently got?

I've heard nothing but good things. Many of the teachers I've spoken to are very happy with their shiny new school and their shiny new pupils! Perhaps give it more than 3-4 days before passing judgement...

We've just moved to the area as have friends of ours and I know they got a 2bed with full condo facilities for 2.8k. Cost of living depends if you're willing to 'live local', the neighbourhood hawker market ...

Wakeboarding at SKI360. If you're good then your arms and core get a great workout. If you're not good then you end up swimming back to the edge a lot!

Having been 'in country' for a month now one of my little annoyances is that everyone cycles on the pavement! Almost everyday I hear the ringing of a bike bell and everyone scatters (well, saunters mostly) as some cyclist shoots by. Has anyone told these people they're not allowed on the pavement?
