Re: A Doctors Precription for a F&#* up

note to self: bring some from my next trip to India where they give these things away like candy for free. 1. No they don't- not free anyway 2. Moral of the Story = Use Protection Really, what is there to discuss in this thread? Your gf's health is at stake and am sure you're not soliciting witch d...

I have observed that a large majority of fellow Indians often approach the forum 1. without doing even a basic Google search and 2. tend to get argumentative or repetitive with their queries when they do not get the answer they had hoped for which can get quite annoying. This does lead to forumers f...

I think people hiring are suspicious of applicants willing to take a pay cut. 'Are they desperate to stay on here? Will they quit the moment they get something scarcer, but more to their experience and pay level?'... and so on. There's no hard and fast rules, in my opinion. These things are subject...

Good luck Wd40! I have been hearing a lot of not so good things about the job market here and lots of noise about not hiring foreigners etc. While this approach may not be sustainable in the long term, the short term impact is being felt by applicants. You have a good understanding of what your skil...

I'm really wary about "skin whitening" products and have never used one. Quite a few contain ingredients that can cause skin damage over a period of time.

Give me sunscreen and an umbrella any day!

Wow that one's tricky for sure. I know I am not doing myself any favours when I tell people I'm not comfortable with lending them money, but its just that I really lack the patience for unnecessary explanations and conversations. Some people just tend to try to probe further when you offer them exc...

An ex colleague once asked me for a loan and I just told her I wasn't comfortable with the idea. End of story. Which reminds me: An ex-manager of mine at work once did the same. What do you do, it's your boss, the one you report to, who grades you for your annual bonus etc. It was 'just a few thous...

I have done this before, refused to give a loan to my uncle. Not that he wont return it, but I will have to pay him by cheque and he will give me cash(black money) without interest and after a year or so later. How I did it? I told him all my money is in mutual funds/fixed deposits with heavy exit ...

Oh it fizzled out in the very first chat online, so I said no to coffee. But was very amusing cause he dropped me a message to connect on Linked In and his exact words were- "Your profile is impressive blah blah" and it reminded me of this thread. Well, like they say...be careful what you post on on...

It's threads like these that make my once a week visit to SGExpats forum a very pleasant experience indeed. Keep it up guys, but seriously, LinkedIn? The head of LinkedIn APAC is an acquaintance, am not sure whether he'll lvoe or hate to hear this. Pretty sure LinkedIn was a joke. I do hear Instagr...
