Re: Scuba Diving Clubs

Not to worry eh, I'm pretty sure the good folks at Scuba Peeps will come back here and give us the skinny.

Re: Scuba Diving Clubs

Come now, you can do better than that... SCUBA People seems legit... the URL is dodgy because its https. It's a legit outfit, no worries there. And I'd spotted the s issue, no worries there either. What I did find sketchy was the actual post, not only for the fact that it's a spamesque one-liner, b...

Re: Expat commuting to work from Johor Bahru

Bummer. The Macs queue was always free-flow, regardless of the size of the crowds. Well, up until they changed the application location to Orchard Road.

Cheers guys.

Re: Expat commuting to work from Johor Bahru

By the by, a question for the border-hopping regulars here, I heard that Macs is no more, i.e. that it's no longer in operation. Is this true?

Re: Landlord doesn’t agree to change occupants

I'm not sure how your LL is going to "win" in any scenario. At best he's going to come out out this with zero upside and zero downside. Why would he want to change the status quo? Goodwill? Good luck with that. I'm afraid that the default setting here is that you take a hit. Anything else you're luc...

Re: Learning to Fly a drone

Practice makes perfect. That's all there's to it. Yes, buy yourself a $30 toy drone and learn the ropes, crash it dozens of times, who cares right? Once it's a goner, buy a new one and keep improving. Make all your beginner's mistakes on this cheapo, so you don't make them on your DJI later on. By t...

Re: The Demise of the Angry Board - Good riddance to shyte-for-brains

This! The BMs had completely lost the plot, censored left, right, centre, including innocuous posts I guess they thought may sound wrong. Wanton hatchet jobs. They typically ignored posters when asked what the reason was for deletion, which oftentimes was followed by posters informing them they're o...

Re: Buying GoPro

Doubt JB is better. Most electronics there are a little higher even than in Singapore, in my experience. Vietnam I'm not sure, but overall, I think your best bet is probably online.

They're pretty voracious; I can only imagine how many mozzies they've knocked back in our place over the years. Lifesavers they are.

Re: Ants are driving me mad!!!

Or get a cicak. I've watched ours pick off a string of ants one by one. We prefer not to use any kind of chemicals, so we're closing one eye to the wee gecko's presence. And it's pretty discrete, so everybody's happy.

Re: holiday programmes for young teens?

I am very grateful that my son obtained a distinction for his ‘ O’ level English. It was least expected as he failed his English in Chung Cheng High (main) in Sec 3. When my colleague recommended us to send him to Joanne Choo Language Centre at Clementi, I was reluctant. It is so far. However, it t...

I’m trying to work out how many times they do random testing. There is not much on the news about it
That's because chances are zero.

The shirt on my back, my Wham-O and the paperback edition of Culture Shock: Singapore. That was 38 years ago.
