Re: Direct flight to Tel aviv Israel

I had the misfortune of being rescheduled due to equipment failure onto a JAL 767 from Narita to Singapore. The leg room was so poor that even a person with no legs would not like the seat pitch. Be sure to check seatguru.com before selecting a flight. If I recall, JAL is skimpier on seat pitch tha...

Re: Online shopping in Singapore

My wife uses Lazada and Zalora extensively. She has had great service and no issues with the products and she can pay cash on delivery so no money lay out in advance. I would have to recommend both companies on the experiences we have had.

Re: Direct flight to Tel aviv Israel

Similar subject, I am off to San Diego soon. JAL have the most appealing flight schedule with only 1 stop in Narita and short lay over times. I have never flown JAL anyone have comments on their quality of service?

Re: Direct flight to Tel aviv Israel

I do this trip maybe 3 times a year. Into Hong Kong using any number of airline choices then El Al into Tel Aviv.

El Al are OK these days nothing special but not to be avoided for any reason either :-)

Re: Pardon me, babes?

I'm no troll. You may think that all educated wp-holders will come to Sg to work for n years, then out. But they get families to house and kids to school. They need PR to make a life in Sg. Who's gonna pay the 50k? If you work in a MNC, you'll ask the company for it. If the companies won't pay, the...

Re: Pardon me, babes?

Yes but this troll is suggesting it applies to work access not just PR so includes work passes. The OP is a bit confused, clearly taking a pop at wealthy or well placed foreigners but rolling in the maids and construction workers too. It just lead me to try and imagine what Singapore would be like i...

Re: UK EXPAT - ELECTORAL REGISTER - HIRE CAR PROBLEM

I have taken a (relatively safe?) option. Mum is adding me to the electoral register at her address from 1st June and I will pay the council tax increase. When I get there later next month I will hire a car or drive mothers car on the basis that the electoral register, driving license and bank accou...

Re: UK EXPAT - ELECTORAL REGISTER - HIRE CAR PROBLEM

Well I have booked a hire car on line for my trip to the UK next month. The email confirmation I received said they would be carry out checks (although they do not say what checks) before I pick up the car. Will be interesting to see what they say...............

Re: UK EXPAT - ELECTORAL REGISTER - HIRE CAR PROBLEM

Here's my 2 cents, based on personal experience... I obtained a Singapore licence back in 2010 by taking the theory test and converting my UK licence. The Singapore authorities didn't take my UK licence, nor, to my knowledge, did they enter into any contact with the DVLA. As far as the DVLA are con...

Re: UK EXPAT - ELECTORAL REGISTER - HIRE CAR PROBLEM

I am not sure what the UK reg's are. Here in Singapore I think it's only necessary to take the basic theory test to change license. Maybe there is a similar arrangement in the UK? Needs investigation. I will most likely never return to the UK to live so it's not an issue. Of course if I did I doubt ...

Re: UK EXPAT - ELECTORAL REGISTER - HIRE CAR PROBLEM

Not sure about Martin, I don't have any property in the UK therefore no legitimate address for the license. For me I think it's time to get a Singapore license.
