Am I the only one who finds it stupid that they would post an ad on an EXPAT forum, and then indicate 'foreigners need not apply'?!?! Or what is the deal with this 'Airline jobs' thread/page on Singaporeexpats.com? They didn't post an ad to the forum. A link was provided by one of the people wantin...

Thank you Lynx for your enlightening information... What we have and what you see now is the result of all these working in the background for decades. It is easy to judge on the surface because it is hard to delve into issues deeper inside that. You either have to live in it and experience it to un...

Zahid Hamidi (like many Malay politicians) have the notoriety of shooting from foot, without studying facts himself beforehand. These politicians have been too comfortable within the local media because they often do not face direct repercussions from their ill-thought comments in public (and the f...

Ride-Sharing (Mitfahren)

Hola! have any of guys you heard of "ride-sharing" or "road-sharing" in this region? it's a very common thing in Europe. When living in Germany I travelled to many places by ride-sharing (mitfahrgelegenheit.de, if interested while on your Europe trip). You just pay your share of all toll fees and ga...

I typically associate this term with skilled or semi-skilled foreigners and their families. There is no race nor country of origin factor in it. Comparing to other migrant workers the economical factor is also present but indirectly. The line goes probably over the point where one moves to a foreig...

So if the definition of "expat" many of you have written here is correct... the "illegal aliens" in the US could also be considered "expats", am I right?? if not, where does the difference lie in? Check my "defnition" at the begining of the thread. It'is addressed there. I did see your "definition"...

I went for an interview a month ago. After two weeks I send a follow up email asking about the status of the position. I got a reply saying that my interview was really positive and well seen by everyone I talked to. However there wasn't a decision yet on the candidates, but that most likely I would...

Re: Angry locals

You mean you can actually see people's faces? It seems most of them have their eyes buried in their cell phones. Just being sarcastic...but I do know what you mean. If they're at a hawker center, they may just be overheated. I try and avoid hawker centers because it seems they're too hot, too crowd...

Angry locals

I don't want do generalize, but why does it seem to me that almost all the people I see on the street seem to be angry/unhappy? By angry I mean with a huge frown on their faces. Regardless if it is after work hours, morning time or WE. They just seem to me, to be unhappy... I know you may say that i...
