Re: Landlord Withholding Access to Mail - Bank & Credit Cards locked away.

Majority of banks (if not all) will issue a debit card on the spot.
Credit cards will be delivered by mail.

Re: Large size shoes - where to buy?

Since this thread was revived, I'll contribute my 2 cents.
Changi Point - Trainers are easy as most stores will have sizes up to 13, Nike stocks till 16 I think.
Can also go around and find some others stocking 13.

Re: Minor repair fee in TA

Well, you can always play hard ball and tell her to get back to the landlord as you want their response documented - this will make sure that LL is aware, though again, it might help and it might not.

Good luck.

Re: Minor repair fee in TA

If the entire tap needs to be replaced, you can argue that you have not used that room and will be looking for the LL to replace it. There are lots of different LLs here. Luckily for me it was either a shitty LL and a place that doesn't break down, or awesome LLs that tell me no need to pay the smal...

Re: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH A SELLER WHO IS ALSO AN AGENT

A contract is a contract, you're writing "appointment 1", do you have other papers and contracts you need to sign on appointment two? Or do you mean a LOI (Letter of Intent) to purchase?

Re: Minor repair fee in TA

Hi, jumping in on this thread. It's our (husband and me) first time renting and I'm also a bit confused with the minor repair clause. What happened is about 2 months back, we informed the LL's agent that the toilet bowl is clogged and the washbasin tap is leaking. We discovered this after the so-ca...

Re: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH A SELLER WHO IS ALSO AN AGENT

I don't understand your writing, what installment do you have if you haven't bought a house yet?
At the end, if you signed a contract to buy one, and they do not vacate it in time, they are in breach of contract and you can take them to court to pay rent.

Re: Tenancy agreements/leases and your rights as a tenant

Looking for some help here. Pardon the long post but I need to present all the facts to get sound advice. I rented a place in late Oct 2017 - 2 year lease with a 6 month termination clause and 2 month notice period (meaning at least 8 months in the unit as a tenant) since the owner was looking to s...

Re: Renewal EP with police report

Wouldn’t worry about it, my EP was approved when I had my name in two police cases.
One of them I was trying to do the right thing and the other was just plain stupid and wasn’t even pursued.

Re: Tenancy agreements/leases and your rights as a tenant

Hello all! After the LOI we finally got out TA. I have checked it and surely all the suggestions you have here I have now tried to implement - so thank you!!!! The paragraph titled " Default of tenant" puzzles me. Here it is: (a) If the rent hereby reserved or any part thereof shall be unpaid for s...
