: lokeshpashine Why did you inform the agent? remember agent = scum, troublemaker, necessary evil, never to be trusted. Stop getting scared. Ways out: Are you married? in yes then did you sign the tenancy agreement alone or jointly with your wife. If you signed it alone then have the new contract be...

As a golden rule never rent a room from a local Indian family. Everything you said sound so familiar. The landlady is only renting to you as a last resort due to a desperate need for money. Unfortunately you cant do much in this case as its very ambiguous legally. The landlord has harassed you out a...

Vince Ma: Already posted the URL where HDB says an utility room cannot be rented. If your contract says utility room was rented he is in violation. Hence I don't know which part you are not sure about the violation unless the contract says something else. Move out and write a polite letter to the re...

Looks like you cant stay here anyway. If you have decided to leave then send him an official note using whatever mode of communication specified in the tenancy agreement. Ask him to reply. If he replies saying that he will only return the deposit after you have paid the phone bill then great. Take t...

:dogdragon Have you been rejected for PR before? if not you have nothing to loose by applying. Don't let the people discrediting the Indian education system put you down. Most of them have no idea what they are talking about. Singapore doesn't let anybody in out of the goodness of its heart and the ...

@ ABCDEF For heavens sake stop reapplying every 6 months and get the message from the Govt. You make the rest of your countrymen look so pathetic. You are so young and India has so much opportunity, if you do the maths at SGD 50K salary you simply wont save enough in the long run. Singapore gets ver...

: alsop/Shilpak ICA has no published/transparent guidelines on why a PR is accepted or rejected. Even members of parliament have not been given full access so your lawyer is only likely to waste your time and money. No lawyer is in any position to assist you with the outcome of the application. Plea...

An update :D Went to ICA today and explained our situation. Was told to fill up the long term pass sponsorship form. The ICA officer looked at our details, Dr's certificate and once convinced granted us an extension of 1.5 months which is just what we needed. She even gave us friendly advice. Just a...

Buddy nobody knows the criteria but looking at the details you posted the chances don't look great. Application for PR used to be free (not sure now) so no harm trying.Miracles do happen - rarely. With a baby on the way you definitely need some kind of back-up plan. You can't say you have no choice ...

@ zzm9980 Your earlier comment made me think about the days stayed and realized that this trip is different. You guys are so helpful. They were here 20 days, then we flew out for 5 days on holiday, on return they were given 30 days which was good enough for us. We found out to our surprise this week...
