Taiwan

ARR1702, Have you found living in Singapore to be better or worse than Taiwan? Would you move back to TW if possible? How does the cost of living in Taipei compare to Singapore? Is the workplace culture better in TW or SG (considering a majority of local colleagues in both)? I have perused Taiwan Ex...

Mexican in SG

For the budget minded, the Mexican stall in the Kopitam/Food Center in Brash Basah.

Piedra Negra is not bad.

There's a kiosk inside the Kallang/Stadium mall selling salsa, chips, and beans. I do not, however, recommend their chips because they are stale and $6 for a snack size.

Hasta luego.

No. I figured months ago that he would increase the price. I am moving out. I gave notice (which I did not have to do because my contract expires) and found out the new price afterwards. The Landlord kept on insisting that he was selling until I saw 4 ads for renting my new apartment at a higher pri...

The lease is up next month. I've shown the apartment 5-6 times in the past 3 months. Yesterday, he brought 35+ people in my apartment in the first half hour. I told him that I am not renewing (due to 20% increase in rent) and no more viewings until I vacate the apartment. His response was you have t...

Wow, I never got my payments docked because of viewings......generally we would only allow Sundays between 1 and 4pm depending on what we were doing etc. We would normally be at home or at least around on Sundays, maybe just eating, playing or around the pool so not a major problem. Once a week for...

Re: Landlord pays for viewing

My landlord had a viewing at my apartment last weekend on June 25. He volunteered to knock $50 off my rent for viewing #1. This weekend, my landlord is requesting another viewing on July 3. Should I request that my rent is reduced another $50 for viewing #2? What is customary here? Read you lease. ...

Trivia quiz

Hi - I attended the recent Trivia Night in Boat Quay. It was hard to hear at times but otherwise a decent venue. However, the next day, I received a phone call from an investment firm looking for clients. The individuals from the investment firm organized Trivia Night. However, they did not disclose...
