This time my ep is for 2 years, P2. Previously it is one year each renewal. Why the company just applied for 1 year time before, I dont know. It does seem silly to do so, since it can be cancelled anytime anyway. When you think about it, it seems like there is no real reason for the rejection other ...

Guess what, my ep got approved :D My boss and hr went to MOM yesterday, spoke with the officer who handled my case. The MOM officer first went through the application, then asked about the company's staffing policy. The HR was able to provide the info. Then the officer proceeded to ask my boss what ...

No fines or arrests for me 8-)
Just heard from our HR, actually several employees in our company has their ep renewal rejected lately. So now they think it is something to do with the company itself, the employer.
Hopefully it all works out :)

Heard back from MOM early today, my written appeal got rejected :( My boss and HR are preparing now to go to MOM personally either later today or tomorrow. Hope this works ... :) Another option we are looking at if the appeal really doesnt succeed is to make a new application for me, and use a 3rd p...

It used to be true until around September '09. I believe that they have stopped that now due to the flack about too many foreigners. They have found the most only stay a little while to abuse the system before moving on to Aust, UK or Canada, so I believe they have stopped it. At least the last cla...

PR invitation

Is it true that if a foreigner takes up a post graduate degree (MS or PhD) here in Singapore, maybe NUS or NTU, that after graduation, or maybe right before graduation, the person is given the invitation to take up permanent residency?

What is the process for a PR rejection appeal? Is there a form to fill up? And normally, how long does the result of the appeal come out?

Nope. Makes not an iota of difference. If they want to downgrade your pass they will do so without even asking you. Asdracles, one of our regulars here, just has that done to him several months ago on his renewal. Ok it makes sense ... I guess I just wait for my appeal results, and at the same time...

Just had a thought. Do you suppose changing the pass type to a lower one (P2 to Q1) can help?

A friend of mine applied for PR late 2008 and was rejected around mar/april 2009, telling her to apply again 6 months later, which she did in December 2009. At that time though, rejections were pretty rampant, so on hindsight, I dont know if it was such a good idea. Nevertheless, she got rejected a...

Thanks for the feedback you guys. My company thankfully, is going forward with the appeal. I have letters of recommendations from my manager and director, as well as details of my full job responsibilities and tasks , which quite honestly, was not put into detail in the first application. The appeal...
