Re: My Singapore PR REP got rejected

That raises an interesting question. Lets say you are a 2nd generation PR that has done NS then gone back to the "home" country to do university. Technically they wouldnt be eligible for a REP even though they have done NS. Any idea what would happen?

Re: Opening a bank account without physical EP

hmm, thats right you need to do a visit to MOM first - it has been quite a while. If you change jobs they just courier it to you on the first day if you have been fingerprinted in the last 5 years.

I suggest take everything you have into a branch and see, then post back if you had any issues.

Re: Opening a bank account without physical EP

It used to be fine but not sure now, but only because you need a utility bill with an address rather than the EP itself and the EP gets to you on your first day of work so before you should have a bill. I opened my first account on my passport without EP and back then I would not have had a utility ...

The "Best" phone for you is one that matches all your requirements for the cheapest price.
Without requirements there is no possible answer, unless you are setting up for spam.

Re: Best Utilities Companies?

SP Services supply Electricity, water and gas, there is no choice unless you are getting bottled gas. Water and gas are cheap, electricity expensive.
There are a lot of interenet and phone providers dependent on your needs.

Re: How To Make Friends As An Expat In Singapore

I have been here 2 months, you just need to go to the same place over and over. I havent found any friends except for the staff @ Cuscaden patio who are nice and friendly. Its boring here... get used to it lol I joined a rugby club within 2 weeks of arriving and always had a group of over 50 people...

Re: PR chance evaluation

My overly simplified guide to getting PR on the first attempt based on watching this forum: [*]Malaysian Chinese married to a citizen -> really good [*]Anyone else married to a citizen -> LTVP and try again in a few years [*]Malysian chinese of "breeding age" -> maybe [*]Most others - > re...

Re: how i was cured from cancer using Cannabis oil

I am sure you have rigorous medical studies to back up your claim, however if you are just another charlatan preying on the suffering and desperation of others you are the lowest form of scum.

Please post the links to the rigorous medical studies from reputable journals.

Re: Special Gathering of Eagles

Tap does have the Football on - I follow them on Facebook but I am happy with any of the locations.

Tap has $10 nett pints which I recall is cheaper than BeerFest
I know nothing of Chinese Druggists in any context

Re: Hi guys, i have a question about Tax Loses in Australia

I am a PR in Singapore and think I understand the tax implications of the change in rules over the last few years. One thing I'm confused about is tax loses in Australia. I have my house in Australia rented out but make a loss on it. I keep getting different advice about tax loses Can I carry tax l...

Re: Five Things You Can Do To Get A Truly Fresh Start As An Expat

Old hobby / New hobby / Local friends I was lucky enough to join a sports team (Rugby club) in the first 2 weeks of coming here and I think it was the best thing I could do. It gives you an immediate group of like minded friends and activities with many others, both local and expat, who have an alr...
