Exactly. I think Geerang is just enjoying trying to wind us up. His last post shows this, completely ignoring the points being made! You have such a warped view of morality and socially acceptable behaviour that I wonder if you have any true friends. If people choose to speak in their own language,...

Yeah, some poor countries in SE Asia do have a thoroughly 3rd world mentality. One country has large numbers of rape and violent crime. Walk around with your handbag and it may be gone. The police solicits for bribes. Racism. Power outtages. Scammers. Court cases take decades to be heard. Judicial ...

Dear geerang, The Philippines being a third world country has nothing to do with the original point which was language proficiency versus accent. My feelings are also irrelevant (for the record, I am and will never be jealous of Singaporeans; especially you). But since you've chosen to digress alre...

Yeah, Singaporeans are so poor that they only have an average wage of 4000 sgd/mth, have only 1 expatriate maid, air conditioner in every room, 50inch plasma tv, a 5 room executive flat, and hawker food that are so cheap you could kill yourself eating. If only this were really true... Geerang, Sing...

O/A levels papers are air flown to Cambridge to be marked. And Cambridge examiners that are flown to Singapore. :???: :???: :???: This is partially true. Singapore is still 3rd world enough that they have to depend on being recognized by the UK's certifications as theirs won't hold water on their o...

Hey guys, Many M'sian want to become SG Citizen. Later on they realized their mistake and by then, got stuck in SGland. Though many M'sian become Singaporean, let us don't forget many Singaporean gave up their citizenship for other countries. For Australia, inefficient yes, but dirty probably no. D...

What happens when it is 1st world facility but 3rd world mentality rite? Yeah, some poor countries in SE Asia do have a thoroughly 3rd world mentality. One country has large numbers of rape and violent crime. Walk around with your handbag and it may be gone. The police solicits for bribes. Racism. ...

You mean she has an atrocious accent. Different thing. And to use your own argument, nobody in the world speaks like stephen hawking either. Your point then is moot. You did, however, prove that you truly are singaporean. No doubt about it. Stephen hawking does not speak, he needs a voice machine. ...

Dont know where to write so hope dont mind i write here. A friend of mine sister (same country as me) came here to find a job. There is nothing more hilarious than watching a bunch of people, like some loser expatriates here, who obviously struggle with English criticising others . Guess you are on...

In response to Geerang who said M'sian are queuing up to take Singapore PR/Citizenship ...... that is half true. PR yes, but citizenship no. Why must give up their M'sian IC for Singapore red IC. Best is to have the best of both world, or rather not get trap in SGland. Have many M'sian friends duri...

I simply KNEW in my head it was a mistake to open this thread :( What an utter waste of bandwidth. geerang: 1) the wages are great for some foreigners like us but locals rank along side, and in some categories lower, than Russia in spending power and incomes......as a nation, not selectively. Yeah,...

Two more reasons. 1. the wages are great in Singapore. Europe might seem to have higher wages at first glance but if you factor in the taxes (up to 60%) and much higher cost of living, you will find that you save money much more easily in Singapore. I guess that is why GDP per capita (PPP) Singapore...

More reason why Singapore is amazingly great! Singapore is the 7th most innovative country in the world. Did you know the thumbdrive, first sound cards etc where all invented in Singapore?
