Re: airplane seating etiquette
This isn't a voluntary squeezing contest . I'm not so sure about that anymore...the last Tiger flight I took was rather like a clown car, and I did subject my own self to it. Also, I guess I must be a sumo wrestler because there's no way I could easily or comfortably fit past a person in that gap. ...

Re: airplane seating etiquette
To flip it around, I've only seen people NOT get up in Asia. I find it irritating and rude that a slight shift to the side of one's knees is considered sufficient in economy class seating. I always presume the person seated would rather not have their newspaper squished by my ass and their toes not ...

WHAT UP HOMIES??? Coming for a visit in Aug
I'll be there for a visit August 15-22. *Who wants to have a drink?? *Where are the good places to take 3&5 year old children for fun these days? *Best pools for kids (bonus if they serve drinks)? Also I'll open another topic about it, but I'm looking at hosting a training event/seminar in SG in the...

Mr. K cycled just about everywhere in SG, as long as he wasn't dragging the fam along. He quite enjoyed it- of course the motorists are jerks, but if you're defensive enough and keep your sense of humour you should be ok. Mr. K isn't in a suit-wearing type of work though, and not one to sweat profus...

Hi All! It looks as if we are going to be back in SG in a month or so, just trying to finalize the contract negotiations. It will be for a short term (7 months) to start, so the company is offering a one bedroom serviced apartment in this place http://lxtan.webs.com/geylangaljunied.htm It looks ok a...

I had to wear compression stockings up to my hips while I recovered from my C section in the hospital. I guess it would make sense to keep them on hand for long hauls. Pretty freaking warm and uncomfortable though! Better than the alternative I suppose ;-) I have God and the amazing doctors and nurs...

Thanks all! There's a *tiny* possibility of a return to SG before the end of this year, so we'll see, maybe you'll get to meet my little Sweet Pea. It will depend on follow up appointments for me and her, because if either of us needs continued medical treatment, we're probably better off staying in...

It's been a while so I'm checking in :-)
Hi folks! It's been 10.5 months since I left SG and I've thought several times about checking in to see what's up but haven't gotten around to it. What we've been up to: I got pregnant literally the day we arrived home in Canada, and had a sweet baby girl on April 14th. In the interim we moved to a ...

Re: Beware of SCAMS when you want to buy strollers online
Hi all, please beware of scam artists on most of singapore's online buying and selling sites including this one. Silly me... I just got scammed!!! They advertise mostly on Stokke Xplory strollers, orbit G2 strollers, and many others. Goes by the names Tom Anderson, aka Simone Ruscitti, and many oth...

HOME SWEET HOME! After a rather trying journey from SIN-HKG-YYZ with a 17 month old, three adults, 14 pieces of checked baggage, 5 carry ons, 4 pets shipped the other way round the world (via Amsterdam) we have made it back to Brampton, ON with all our stuff, pets and people intact. Just the unpacki...

It's absolutely hilarious how sleepy people get whenever a pregnant woman gets on the train/bus! I remember one time we got on at the Expo and I was pretty heavily pregnant and there were no seats already, so my husband asked one guy who was snoozing in the priority seat to give it up for me. They h...

I find the locals really friendly and courteous. This feeling has become even more pronounced ever since we had our baby. We travel always by public transport and even when the bus is fully packed my wife never had an issue with getting a seat. When we take our baby out on pram on the lift somebody...
