Re: Moving out of UK but currently own a house here - what to do?
My general advice is to sell your home. Sounds crazy but not really. It's one less thing to worry about in your absence and it means absolutely no issues establishing tax residency in Singapore and cutting it in the UK. I see a lot of Aussies doing this now and I think more Brits are starting to do...

Re: Moving out of UK but currently own a house here - what to do?
Generally, passive income, ie, which includes rents from properties, is taxed in the country in which the property resides. Therefore, your rental income is taxable in the UK, not in Singapore. Conversely, active income, ie, earned income such as salary and commissions, is taxed in the country in wh...

Re: Weekend break
You have so many options for a get-away that it is mind boggling. Short and sweet (cheap, too) catch a ferry for a weekend at an island resort at Bintan (fancier) or Batam (closer, cheaper). Drive or catch a flight to Tioman island... many nice spots to stay, some very secluded. Penang is another sp...

Sure... and if you believe that's going to happen (North Korea changing anything except milking the Donny for the stupid sucker he is), I've got some great Arizona ocean front property I'd like to sell y...

Re: Jobs in Singapore
Hi, I am a citizen of India and need an EP to work in Singapore. Infosys made me an offer but could not get an EP. Next Cognizant failed to get an EP. Now Comtel solution is trying to get an EP. Client is OCBC. All in, for 3 months OCBC has asked company after company to get me an EP but all have f...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?
Ok I have contacted ACRA and MoM but didn't get a lot more information for now. I have also contacted a consulting company and here is what they told me: Recently the MoM has stopped granting LoCs to SP owners, including those who are already in business and had previously got their LoC for exactly...

Re: Swede + Singaporean PR gf
Thank you. I recently paid a visit to one such company in Singapore, and was far from impressed. Virtually no legal advice whatsoever, just a long list of services I may or may not need and their associated costs. Basically only information already available on their website. It also seems that som...

Seems like all the PR applications pending irrespective of nationality, race and profile...No approval/Rejections.. No idea what is going on.. And how do you know that? Are you running some PR Approval Registration Center? ^^^^^^^^^ https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b6/ef/05/b6ef05717d1b7c3fc25ba0fa06...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?
Thank you for your time. I have already contacted ACRA and MoM and will go forward according to what they answer is. What you said matches what I could read on the ACRA site, I don't know why so many of the expats told me it wasn't possible to start a SP without partnering, some of them event told ...

Re: Swede + Singaporean PR gf
Hi, I am new here, and joined to ask the following question. I am 36, Swedish and met my girlfriend while she was working in Sweden. She was born in Malaysia but has lived her entire life in Singapore. She has PR in Singapore and recently applied for citizenship. We have no children. She recently h...

Re: Question on Drop Shipping Business
Hi, I am planning to start a drop shipping online e-commerce store. I have no business experience whatsoever. I have only recently started reading up on the topic online, and I am hoping to get some insight. I am a Singapore citizen. The proposed website will be hosted overseas. My products will be...

Re: Which legal status for what professional activity?
Thank you, you are confirming what I thought, that a SP with a local partner is the only viable solution. Do you know wher/how I can get answers to my questions about the partner? I can't find anything about that on the ACRA or MoM web sites. I already have someone I'm considering sas a partner but...

Re: Toilet seats almost always wet!
Im not sure if Strong Eagle is taking the piss (sorry, couldnt resist :-" ) but I find that in the mens toilets the reason the toilets are wet is because guys pee in the cubicles without lifting the seat first. Personally I think its because their package is so small they are ashamed to use th...
