Re: Any issues in getting visa?

but due to a mistake made by his education consultant on the application form he ended up getting inadmissible for 5 years( 3 years remain from June 2018) on the bases of misrepresentation (all his documents are legit). That sounds like a big bunch of malarkey. What is an "education consultant...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

Many thanks for taking the time to reach out to your accountant and get back to me with information (wow I nearly typed 'revert' just then). Her advice pretty much lines up with what I've managed to glean from other sources, which is reassuring. Have booked a meeting with a JP in Australia next mon...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

Called Australian High Commission and learned the reason they can't witness/notarise statutory declarations relating to de facto status is that Singapore does not legally recognise de facto marriage. And since they're in Singapore they don't want to say anything that contradicts local laws, it open...

Re: The Best Breakup Advice I got

Is there a reference ID to an affiliate account in that link? The Wine Connection mention is bonus I reckon :) Disclaimer: All of the above is full-on conjecture on my part. I think Max has pinged this one spot on. Indeed, there is an affiliate account reference in that link, to whit: tag=yoyodolly...

You took all the necessary steps to legally ensure that you weren't required to do NS?

No, all online PR applications go into the bit bucket, then the bits are converted to electrons and used to power the slot machines at MBS.

Re: The Donald ... Getting stuff Done!!!

The AR15 restriction will never fly. It is a semi-automatic rifle. On what grounds are you going to ban it? That it is a semi-auto? Then you will need to ban the majority of weapons in the USA, and that's not going to happen. Are you going to ban it because it looks dangerous? Then what about the ne...

Re: Employment pass issue delay - 6 weeks!

Personally my pass is Perm, relocating from EMEA, rates are inline with benchmarking - perhaps slightly lower but certainly no more than 5/10% off. Company employs a substantial amount of locals and would have a high ratio in that area I'd expect. Seems ya never do know though with this process ! W...

Re: Re:

companies that intend to hire me have sufficient quota for hiring foreign employment I wasn't aware this was a factor. Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

My accountant was kind enough to provide a bit of information for me/you. She prefaces her comments with, "I am not an expert in selling goods in the US and when there is a breach of the “doing business” and “effectively connected” status of income that becomes taxable in the US. I can do some ...

Re: Employment Pass - Do any employers still submit manually?

They took whatever you entered on your badly formatted Word document and typed it into the EP online system. Quite difficult to file manually these days. Hard to say what is holding things up... you're engineering credentials... whether NTU has sought out locals first... or the fact that you're maki...

Re: singapore employment pass race question

Virtually every government and non-government document wants to know race because the powers that be are race conscious and want to maintain race percentages at pretty much what they are right now. As far as the implications go: a) If you want to move to an HDB complex but you would exceed the allow...

Re: Working Remotely from Singapore as a Tax Resident - which pass/structure?

Also sent some requests for consultation to US tax lawyers based in Singapore, which I really should have thought of earlier. They all market themselves toward American expats but should still be qualified to advise a non-resident alien. Will update again with the outcomes. Good luck with that. If ...
