Thanks for that. We actually went to the light show a few nights ago, from the Fullerton side. From there, you can get a good overview of the big picture.... but you can't hear the music very well and you can't see the film show. However, one of our guests viewed it from the MBS side and said it was...

Step1: Take one step at a time .. 2: Get yourself here 3: If you can afford it, get yourself into a furnished, short term accommodation (serviced apartment) until you can decide where to live 4: Get your husband off to work 5: Don't bring too much with you ... you can buy most things cheaply here 6:...

Had an interesting discussion today. Was with a group of friends, both expat and Singaporean. As I still have this irrational issue with footpath dodgems, I asked the Singaporean ... "on which side of the footpath should you walk?" "On the left, of course" ... she said. My eyes rolled back into my h...

Marina Bay Light Show

I haven't seen the nightly light show yet and we are having visitors soon, so I wanted to take them there.

Is it best to watch it from MBS or from the Fullerton side?

I'm especially wondering whether you can see the projected images from the Fullerton side.

Thanks

Yes, you have made a good point. Our LL asked for a 40% rent increase at the end of the first 12 months. We managed to negotiate it down to a 13% rise. So, you certainly have to take that into account. But, all things considered, having the option to change apartments at the end of the first year (w...

Just from my own experience .... We opted for, and got, a 12 month lease in the first year. At the end of that, we actually asked for, and got, an 11 month lease extension ... to fit in with our travel plans. I guess the rule is ... if you never ever ask ... you'll never ever get. By the way, we hav...

I had to come back here and let you all know that I've found an antidote for the "footpath dodgem car" syndrome ... my wife. She's just had shoulder surgery (all 4ft 10ins of her) and her arm's in a sling. We were walking through the Outram Park Green Line/Purple Line link ... you know, where they'v...

Wow ... I've been away for a day or so and this thing has gone berserk. Vozzie, do you never let anything annoy you (apart from things that have been set to intentionally annoy you)? Contrary to many reports in the press, I am human, and, yes, I certainly get bent out of shape ... don't get me start...

but are just too selfish to care Does that not show a lack of upbringing/parenting? Which is teaching ... by another name. I think my point is still valid ... it's what has brought them to this state of being(for want of a better word) that is the problem ... not the person. The challenge remains ....

... and to deal with the other issue raised ... Why isn't that school kid standing up for the old guy with the walking stick? Because he hasn't been taught manners sufficiently by his parents and teachers. Do I agree with that? ... No Do I have a chance of changing that culture? ... Well, yes Do I g...

WHY? It is rather a common local behavior so you should have this answer. The understanding does not help and doing nothing you contribute to the problem, biggie or not. The last part being truly universal. As I said ... you deal with it however you like, but as you asked the question ... here's ho...

So you are saying I should take no action and adapt If you really want to know what I think, here it is: Those annoying events you mentioned(and they happen also in AUS/UK/USA) are a reality and your choices are to either: 1. Try understanding WHY it's happening and live with it ... because it isn'...

Longstebe is right ... there are annoyances, but you can adapt to them. I was just thinking of what a list about Australian (or UK or USA) annoyances would look like compared to this. I think locking yourself inside after dark, rapes, stabbings, road rage, taxes, louts, bogans and idiots etc well an...
