Interesting that you have used the present tense. I'm going to make the inference that something awful did happen and for that I will make good use of the slow-motion, flash back footage in your movie...

How about The Viceroy? Hey. Listen. I'm no bleeding heart liberal. And God knows if someone ever hurt someone close to me I would want to shoot them myself (and probably will, as I tend to shoot first and ask questions later). The time to make that decision is not when you are victimised, but when y...

You must know from my earlier posts that I would NEVER get on the back of that boss hog of yours. So, alas, there our relationship must meet it's thorny end.

Re: no

No he wasn't, he was a hugely celebrated amongst a large scientific community. He was also a friend to the Pope at the time. His problem came when he wrote a science book in Italian (not Latin) aimed at the layman which had three characters one in favour of heliocentricity, one against it and a lay...

According to Citizen Deek she doesn't need a burka. I'm with you SE. Fanatisism is not partial to either sex. It gets in bed with the poor and ignorant regardless.

Whoa Nelly! Galileo was in direct opposition of the Church in his day and therefore a subject to ridicule and ostracism. He was persecuted in his time, not lauded as a hero.

You should read 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' by my hero, Bill Bryson. So much of the greatest discoveries of science were accidental. That is why we (here I mean Americans) need to go to Mars, and fund the supercollider project which replicates the big bang, among other things. Telephones,...

Re: Double murdercase in Singapore, Briton accused

For me the biggest legislation of the death sentence is to secure the society of murderers and alike, and in my opinion those who take lives should be given the same treatment, thus death penalty. (murderers, drug traffickers).Eric My aha! moment: the death penalty has been abolished in the Netherl...

Extra points should be awarded for using 'expat' in the subject box as a verb and not the boring old, predictable way as a noun. 8)

A very wise man once said:

Do we find happiness so often in ourselves that we should turn it down in others?
