Re: Landlord lied to vacate the house!!!
Nothing you can do as it's the owner's house and you agreed to vacate early. Agree with PNGMK. It's called misrepresentation and he can likely sue for damages. He entered a new agreement based on deceitful information/action of the LL. The question is what evidence he can provide. Probably none. An...

Re: REP renewal rejected 5 days before expired
Hi guys, I am currently doing my PhD overseas and I have not been home/visited Sg since corona time. I just recently applied for renewal of my REP and today I found out that I got rejected for REP renewal (5 days before expired date). For the past two years, my REP renewal has been granted (each ti...

I don't think I've ever seen a balcony in an HDB... must be very rare. Re: Did you renew your Starhub bundle plan?
For handphone data, CM Link has 12 GB for $10.80 per month and SIMBA has 100 GB for $10 per month. Wow, get those deal while you can… if you have the need! My Republic, TPG have similar. I pay MR for one dataline like SGD4-6 (14GB) and another voice/data (SGD10) where for some reason I see now 60GB...

Re: How to move a pet out of Singapore
ChatGPT? I've seen it all over the news recently, but haven't gotten around to trying it. Have you? Nope. Never bothered to register an account what seems to be needed. But the style is similar to some samples I've seen and the text seems original - I took some phrases and fed them to google. Nothi...

Re: Did you renew your Starhub bundle plan?
Is star hub any good? I have a generally bad impression of them. SH used to have much more technically educated CS, but I had no opportunity to test them more recently. Singtel CS sucks practically everywhere, technically or not technically. My humble opinion of course. I sort of alternate between ...

REP renewals
Not sure if this was mentioned on this board recently, but already some time ago ICA stopped informing about REP renewal due dates (when they come closer). As the results we just woke up 3 weeks shy from the expiry date. What makes things worse, we would be overseas the time when our REPs expire. Wh...

Re: The formal wear while swimming in pool
Occasionally I even see males wearing swimming briefs. Nobody cares. Some would wear t-shirts and likely for different reasons including aesthetic, cultural/religious.... I see for example more Malay than Chinese/Indian/White with t-shirts. If you go to public places like Wild Wild Wet you would se...

Re: Deed of separation
Little more sleuthing brought up this which shows that it can be done without agreement but it takes a little more time and effort but can be done. Bit of a read but further down it gets to the point where the court can proceed without the Decree Nisi being served. https://divorcelawyer-singapore.s...

Re: Deed of separation
Nope. It's just like any formal, legally binding agreement. It requires signatures of both parties (spouses) to be valid.sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Tue, 14 Feb 2023 9:10 pmIf you don't respond, I believe that it becomes valid, e.g., uncontested.
The divorce can be made valid if uncontested because this is the judge who can decide unilaterally.

Re: Child born by unmarried SC female in overseas
For the link: https://www.ica.gov.sg/reside/citizenship/apply note, how the body of the message is phrased. This in my opinion concerns a person who want to apply for her/him self, not necessarily a newly born child. There is also no mentioning the registration has to be done within 1 year. The cons...
