Re: House renting with a power of attorney

Hi Expats, I am about to rent out an entire unit in Singapore via an agent. The house owner is at abroad as per the agent and showed me a power of attorney but didn't allow me to take a picture of that saying that it is a court document. Surely POA is not a court document and I am pretty sure any a...

Re: How soon can I re-enter SG after being refused entry? I will have an IPA for E pass

Recently, on 12th January 2019, I was denied to enter into the Singapore. Despite of having a CLEAN background, VALID passport and LEGITMATE visa, the authorities denied to me to enter because before I stayed for the duration of 61 days in total on my visit pass applied by my Singaporean friend. Ev...

Re: Singapore PR chances based on scheme

I kind of feel this a wierd way to evaluate people. Just because someone is high pay and mobile, they will move. Maybe people will stay if they get a PR and want to settledown and prefer to actually settledown in a place rather than be a gypsy. So I don't quite buy that logic. Probably because you ...

Re: Ants are driving me mad!!!

We had ants infestation twice and twice we got rid of them using the commonly available baits that can be bought in CS or fairprice. In short: the baits take time to do the job. We placed them on the ants' paths, 3-4 of these little bait houses. Only after 2-3 weeks it started to be obvious the exte...

Re: PR - How low are my chances?

Hi there, I've read a couple of threads in this forum & overall it seems like my chances are pretty bleak given my background. Nevertheless, still giving it a go to get feedback from people who've walked down this path. Here is my profile. Nationality: Indian Age: 30 Gender: Male Marital Status...

It seems for the OP case it was also automatic - ca 5h between his posts mostly outside the ICA working hours.

Re: Rejected the transfer of REP?

I have some doubts if CPF and taxes carries that much of the punch to save one from the REP rejection over longer time. CPF is a pretty good saving instrument for people who don't like to take risk. Taxes are lower than in other countries. This can be seen as the benefits and what would be offered h...

Re: Rejected the transfer of REP?

1) You must have a good reason to believe that I will not be getting another renewal. Can you share your reasons? We've seen on this forum dozens cases of having the REP striped to 1 year only and practically all of them were for people who stayed outside Singapore for too long. I am ready to bet a...

Re: PR Chances - UK/US Couple

x9200 - thanks for your thoughts, and you are right in saying we would be loath to renounce any citizenships interesting to see your comments here (and in other threads) re high income; most seem to say the more tax you contribute the better. job mobility is actually fairly low given the niche with...

Re: PR Chances - UK/US Couple

Re: Costs of living for an intern

Hi everybody, I am looking for a 6 months intership in Singapore but I would first like to know if I will be able to afford the costs of living. I wish I could find an internship paid at least 800-100sgd and I can add 1200sgd, that is 2000-2200sgd in total. I wish I could live in a shared condo to ...

Re: Need Advice on Hiring Tutors

I work and study now. I try to combine it, but it is very difficult. Sometimes I even think of quitting my studies or work. I am very tired lately and I do not have enough time for everything. For example, I need to write a few essays now. Even planned to order through ####https://e-e.please-dont.d...

Re: Success stories of your partner employment DH > LOC/EP / Advice needed

The partner who earns less should also follow the partner who earns more. True. Unless the partner is about to work for one of the best companies with a nice package as well. Money can't buy happiness. Fortunately or not. Yes, but looks like staying in Japan can't buy you happiness neither. Any cha...
