Re: Tenancy agreements/leases and your rights as a tenant

I was hoping to see the word "inclusive". The problem is such phrasing is ambiguous, but you can always argue that 2 years is 2x365 days (2017 was a leap year but you started in May :D ) so it should be 31st May inclusive. As of the "usual practice" this is indeed BS in that sens...

Re: Tread for broken hearts

I recently moved to Singapore due to work. I moved from Den/ver where I had a girlf/riend. During the first 2 months while I lived here, we had rel/ationships at a di/\stance and it seemed to me that everything was fine, since a long sepa\ration will surely cause a flash of fe/elings between us whe...

Re: Where to buy rockwool/stonewool/any other sound absorption material?

Zillions of places around. Enough to google and call them. Well I don't need zillions, just one would work for me. The reason I made this post in the first place is because I did just what you suggest and I couldn't find any. I tried SunHee Hardware Paint & Electrical, Horme Hardware, HardwareO...

Re: Where to buy rockwool/stonewool/any other sound absorption material?

Hi, I'm looking for rockwool or stonewool, or any of the stuff that is usually used to insulate and soundproof an interior room. That's no surprise given the climate here, rockwool seems to be impossible to find (at least at the hardware sores I've been to). Zillions of places around. Enough to goo...

Re: End of rental

The only question mark for me is about the stove. Looks like you missed something you were aware of and also did not inform the LL about the damages (cracks)? What sort of cracks? For the whole rest it's IMHO just to milk you and make you pay to renovate the unit so they can save the money with the ...

A friend of mine earning something around 5950 with more bonuses + cash allowances than yours got into troubles when extending her EP. Not sure how it was solved.

Re: NEED ONWARD TICKET (SINGAPORE)?

I regularly get questioned (and have to show my NRIC) on the way back to Singapore (return tickets from SG) despite holding a 90 days, no visa required passport.

Re: Malaysian Landlord - Defaulting on multiple payments

Hello all! Been a long time lurker in the forum. I am having quiet a interesting couple of weeks - not in a good way. :( I am hoping to get some insights on what are tenants legal rights here in Singapore. I have recently moved in to a apartment with my family. Since we moved in about 3 months ago,...

Re: Plant cuttings from street

Hi, this is my first time here. I have recently shifted to Singapore. I love plants espywith big leaves. I saw a small plant with a beautiful pattern on road side near where I stay. Is it ok to cut a part of it for propagation. It's not private home owners property. It's near a condo. Sent from my ...

Re: Renunciation of SPR for my son

Definitely this is what should be expected. And I believe more. If I am not mistaken, we also have seen on this board cases of REP renewals for parents being rejected. Also, I believe there is no guaranty LTPV/student pass for the son will be granted after his renunciation, meaning the parents may n...

SMS, I always though that only after the age of 16.5 and being called for the enlistment a PR can fall into some serious troubles. Not correct?

Re: DP application with very old criminal conviction

Yes it was. I communicated that the offense occurred in 1998, that I paid a small fine, served no time, and have not had a conviction since. In the letter I am communicating more detail such as that the charge was initially a misdemeanor but was reduced to an ordinance violation, the exact amount o...

Re: DP application with very old criminal conviction

My initial DP application was rejected. My spouse's EP was approved as were the DP's of our children. We are being told to appeal by submitting a 'company sponsored' letter to MOM. Does anyone have experience with this and the likelihood that this will work? Obviously I cannot address the underlyin...
