Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

This analogy to homicides is actually less absurd that it may seem at first (e.g. the No of fatalities resulting from flaunting the rules is the same order of magnitude, just the connection is less obvious and it is not premeditated), but perhaps better analogy would be drink driving. Small fraction...

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

A few people in a what few thousand people hdb block. I would still call it a small fraction, would it reach You would need to relate it to some average of the fraction outside the estate at some given time period and perhaps during normal situation as well, not to the whole population living there...

Re: Working from home decreasing or increasing productivity?

A diarrhea can get him fired, unless he works it out outside office hours. But I know some bosses who are good candidates to purchase such software and this sort of bosses are linked to the working culture where people spend long hours at work pretending they work but doing de facto nothing. The fun...

Re: Cats allowed to roam around estates?

I do not quite understand why home cats are allowed to roam around estates and enter other people's homes? It's quite annoying with your neighbour's cat enters your home uninvited. What could we do? How do you know they are home cats? If they really are, and this is a condo, report the issue to the...

Re: Visiting parents or grandparents from 2 June

My wife had a theory that this is because Singaporeans often go outside as the whole families, like 3 generations, so one thing this would encourage others to gather, and another, it could be difficult for the safe distance ambassadors/officers to tell if this is legal or not.

Re: When do you think we can stop wearing masks?

I see people not following the simple rules each time I step out my apartment so I am pretty sure SMS is right. Just look around at all the people wearing the masks nose out or not wearing at all. Are they really all exercising? But I see some improvement over past 2-3 weeks.

Re: "Entry only if essential international travel" (Tourism is dead!)

The 2nd wave of infections is expected around August-September. I reckon, only after this there will be enough data to speculate.

Re: Zero locals/PRwith covid19 for the first time today?

Today 3 so far. Ups and downs but hopefully on decline....
I like MOH daily situation reports:
https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19/situation-report

They show the trends we all (with some exceptions) want to see.

Re: Zero locals/PRwith covid19 for the first time today?

Let's be optimistic but also notice this is based on a single day results and it is not 0 for the community (as per MOH later update): COVID-19: 28 May update New cases: 373 - Imported: 0 - Cases in community: 1 (1 Work Pass holder) - Cases residing in dormitories: 372 Of new cases, 99% are linked t...

Re: Visiting parents or grandparents from 2 June

i would guess it's the household, so you can visit anyone who lives there. I think they can come out of the bathroom :) If I am not mistaken only one parent can go out with the child even if another one lives in the same household so I would be cautious here :) Any volunteers to explain the logic?

Re: renting in singapore

You need a residential pass to rent longer (>6 months) term. If you are going to be in Singapore based on tourist visa (short term visit pass) your legal accommodation choices are limited to hotels and alike, and service appartaments. And agree with abbby, too cheap for this sort of property/location.

Re: flat battery

Mine is 2yo, the battery is practically new (2-3 months old) - changed it after 1.5y (1-3y life span in my experience, perhaps because I commute daily so daily overheating). Pity I didn't check the current, it could be pretty clear what drains the bike alone and what the IU.

flat battery

Left my motorcycle for 1.5 month with two short rides (20km or so), the last one 1 month ago and the battery was deeply discharged (<5V). Took it home and charged it back (probably needs at least 3 cycles to recover), wanted to measure the idle current but the battery in the amperometer also got fla...
