NTP / Radio referenced clocks

Asian_geekette thanks, that's certainly interesting. But, what I'm after is the other way round, e.g. generating the radio signal given a reliable time source (NTP).

I'll try emailing to some of the people in the sites you've pointed me to.

Thanks again.

how about a casio wave ceptor? Thanks, but that's just another example of the technology (albeit a good example) that I'm trying to reproduce. To elaborate, there are two technologies in play, and I guess I'm trying to blend them: Method #1: Special radio signal -> broadcast to -> Specially enabled...

Moved FROM Singapore to Australia - Need new forum ...

I've moved from Singapore to Aus. I've found singaporeexpats to be a great resource (** see notes below) and now want to find the equivalent in Australia. Anyone got any FIRST HAND experience of good forums in Aus? I've done the searchs and found a few, that part is easy. What I want is real life re...

Auto synchronising real clocks (e.g not PC clocks)

Hi, I'm trying to find clocks that automatically reset themselves to the correct time periodically. Before you answer, let me clarify: - I am refering to real, physical clocks, not the clocks inside PCs, DVD players etc. - In many countries (especially Europe) the government broadcast a radio signal...

Use PS3 as Blu-ray player?

Just moved from Singapore to Australia ... was considering buying PS3 mostly for the Blu-ray player (PS3 ~A$1k, Blu-ray standalone ~A$1.4k), but the games are a bonus. But, informed by all dealers here that Blu-ray players ARE region coded. So can someone confirm (1st hand please, none of this 'my f...

Moving to Australia - Maid/Helper

(Sorry, I appreciate this is not a Relocating TO Singapore question, but can't find a better place to post it) We may be moving to Aus soon. Have you (or anyone you know) managed to transfer your maid/helper to Aus? I know it's very difficult and I'm trying to find how to achieve this. Would appreci...

maybe you wanna get a dealership from TomTom into Singapore n Malaysia & partnership ? :D Not a bad idea, though my encounters with their head office discourage me from wanting to have very much to do with them at all :x As an update to my earlier post ... they have now admitted that the Singapore ...

Enter Job Title

Is there anybody who wants to sell or knows a way to obtain the map? Andre, you 'should' be able to buy/download the map from their website. I did this after I bought the device. Having said that, I then found that the website changed and I think they are trying to very quietly drop support for Sin...

Re: TomTom GPS car navigation system

Are you wanting to sell it, I will be going back to UK shortly, if the price is attractive, I may have a buyer. I've seen it in UK for 399, and was hoping it would be Cheaper here. I'll think about that. My wife is still happy to use it (if nothing else, it is a surefire way to get home from anywhe...

Re: TomTom GPS car navigation system

If you don't mind me asking what is the price of the Tom Tom 910 in Singapore and where did you purchase. I tried Sim Lim but couldn't find it. I also haven't seen it in Singapore. I bought mine in the UK. There is one small place on the ground floor of Sim Lim that seems to have the widest range (...

Further to this, I think that TomTom have withdrawn support for the Singapore maps. I can't find any reference to these on the website.

New technique for (trying to) raise service standards

During a recent exchange with a company in Singapore, I tried a new twist on one of my usual grumbles, and it actually worked! Excuse the long background, but I need to set some context... In my all-too-frequent grumbles with companies who've let me down, I often comment that the only way to get com...

National day celebrations

National Day celebrations are ...
(a) A great way for the people to come together and celebrate the achievements of the nation
(b) A massive propaganda exercise and waste of the taxpayers money

Re: TomTom GPS car navigation system

Just started using (TomTom Go 910) The TomTom Go 910 is their own device. Looks physically like the Garmin boxes (c310 thru c340) but a bit wider. Generally good, but of course in Singapore the issue is that the roads keep changing  and therefore the maps are out of date. Hence my desire to ...

TomTom GPS car navigation system

Any users here? Either TomTom's own device or on PDA?

Just started using (TomTom Go 910) and seems pretty good, but interested in building a small group in order to apply pressure to TomTom for map updates for Singapore.

Cheers
