I have found some of the sales assistants quite helpful. In Popular they have not only checked if the book I wanted was in store, but also provided me with how many copies were in the three nearest stores, if the store I was in did not have it. Also a kid's clothing store in Paragon, called over to ...

There was also a bus provided by NTU that did a once an evening trip from the campus to Buona Vista. Our admin girls used to race out the door at 5:30pm to make sure they did not miss that. I would say look at the stops from Clementi to Tiong Bahru. They are all quite close to Holland Village, Demps...

I agree with your reasoning behind the working holiday visa. The way it is written up, it seems to be there to allow students to spend a summer or a "gap" semester in singapore, probably for an internship. I feel that its intent is to let students get a feel for what a great place Singapor...

I am not sure if you have resolved your issue yet. If you want to check if dns is causing the problem, try going to a website by their IP number. Big companies are best avoided for this test as they do lots of tricky things to help balance traffic globally. Universities are good for this. Try the fo...

Late reply, sorry. The thing to keep in mind is that district 14 may be harder to raise financing for from a local bank. Some banks apply restrictions on what they will lend in the area, and this is before the most recent changes to property came in. The area has been traditionally associated with t...

I have a friend who is a single mother here. They slip through the cracks. I guess so as to not encourage more people to do it to get a flat. But if she was divorced or widowed, then she could get a flat with her young son. It just seems to push vulnerable people into doing more silly things to fit ...

I remember a seminar at uni with some local seniors from my course who are now business owners. I expressed my disappointment at needing to provide totally unnecessary information for the job application. The most important senior had a different view. He said "if you have nothing to hide, why ...

Being here on a Temp EP, I will put in my two cents. Get a normal EP instead! The Temp EP let's you work here and contribute to the economy but you slip through the cracks in the system. It is only a three month visa which is renewed, so you don't have the confirmed minimum 6 months future residency...

T, are you a US citizen and between the ages of 18 and 30?

If so then you can get a work and holiday visa from Australia for 12 months.

If you are planning to study the LLB external from Uni of London, perhaps you should check if you can afford to do it through a local private college in Singapore. Then check if you can get a student visa to reside in Singapore and do this course. Finally see if you would be eligible to have a stude...

wcs, I beg to differ on this. Those that were allowed to reapply for PR for further studies are usually on student visa studying in NUS or NTU when they were offered PR. Or on local scholarship. They were offered a place in overseas Uni for further studies and they give up their PR upon recommendat...

Hi, My classmate is a girl from China who studied at a local uni for both undergrad and masters. Her parents are still in China, and they are not Singapore PR. For the OP, it might help if you say your age and how long your father has had PR here. If he got PR after you were 21, then the interpretat...

If you were in the US studying full time you may have a slim chance at getting a renewal for a year. Then you move back to Singapore year end, and share all that new knowledge in Singapore for the benefit of local companies. :)
