You're interested in starting such a venture? Overheards will be steep. Just mooring the boat on the south side will need joining a club, then 1k+ a month.

Agree...i think the operating cost is rather high.

I think pest extermination business is good now..

Undervalued Properties in Singapore

I was having a chat with a friend who was planning to move back to Singapore from Australia. And we were in the discussion of what's left in Singapore, undervalued properties...because every where's so expensive now. I do feel that Bukit Timah and Sentosa has some undervalued properties worth explor...

Dairy Farm Residences - Maintenance fee more than doubled

In fact, I was rather surprised that during the launch the developer had quoted only $200-$300+ for 3 bedroom, it seems rather low for a 3 bedroom. Now, they are being quoted maintenance fees more than double at $700+ for 3 bedroom. I think it would affect many owners since these are monthly outgoin...

Re: Termites & Treatment - Responsibility/Landlord issues

I would think if they have given you the option to move on a goodwill, then might be good to start looking around. rents have come down and not so high as earlier in the year, it's better than living in a termite infested environment.

Avenue South Residences termite infestation

Saw this article online, seems like a very bad case of termite infestation on the carpentry works of the new units at Avenue South Residences? Everything is already built in, not sure what the owners could do but I am sure the developers have given the owners a one year warranty? Did they install it...

Erasing your names on parcels

Do you erase your names and addresses on boxes and packages before discarding?
It is safer to do that before discarding as there could be a possibility that someone might use your name and address for other purposes? Just thinking.. :)

Re: Owner not refund rental deposit

I would think you'll need a lawyer to get through this owner on the agreement. I hope you did have a proper tenancy agreement that favours you. I also hope you've moved out of this house. Seems like an owner from hell to me.

Buying items from Malaysia - GST in Singapore

Anyone can clarify, for grocery items bought in Malaysia, would one need to declare in Singapore's customs? Came across this article in CNA.

Re: Rents are peaking!

Lucky you to have the privilege to be exempted for ABSD for the first property. For those who is unaware, Nationals and Permanent Residents of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United States of America are treated as Singapore Citizen when they purchase a property in Singapore. Do...

Re: Black Mold Growing on Walls - Landlord or tenant's responsibility?

I would think it's tenant's responsibility to upkeep and maintain the place. Turning on the AC too often will cause a lot of condensation around the walls and ceilings. Thus high humidity and walls and ceiling can turn mouldy. I have a friend whose neighbour downstairs turn on the AC 24 hours and ca...
