I don't see many foreigners on Stomp or Temasekreview complaining about the comments there, because most people have the common sense to realise what the site is about and so don't bother. Considering you've been on here bitching about anyone who says a negative thing about Singapore for months now...

As per WIHM findings they may not have a direct translation to the points of the OP. You can afford the monthly payments and pay them with no delays but this can significantly restrict your comfort of living resulting in what the OP mentioned. If we are looking for some kind of statistical proof a ...

To be fair, "can it get any better" implies a question Oh purleese. Anyone with a rudimentary grasp of English would know that in that context it was an expression and not a question. A bit of a desperate defence, I must say. You'd be better off posting on temesakreview or stomp if you can't handle...

It always degenerates. Even a thread on 'can it get any better than this' where the premise is the opposite of the bashing it became. It's got nothing to do with the premise of the thread, but with the posters.nakatago wrote:Degenerate? It's the whole premise of the thread! So, technically, it didn't degenerate.

I don't know about OP but I wasn't singling out anyone; just reasoning out an observation based on OP's post. I'd hate to have another "..but they have it worse!" thread. Comparing anything to something worse always makes anything look better. I was just putting some figures to what ScoobyDoes had ...

I think the daftness comes in when, knowing full well that property is really expensive, some Singaporeans go out of their way to buy cars which they really don't need or houses that are way beyond their means. I was curious about people buying houses beyond their means, and whether it is fair to s...

According to a few reports I've read recently, 2013 is the time when a lot are predicting that things will go belly up regarding the house prices as a lot of new private developments will come on to the market at that time, a lot of which will apparently stand empty. No idea how much weight is behi...

Glad I could provoke a good thread, the Singapore folks I work with are very friendly, a lot of my time is spent regionally out of Singapore, my company pays taxes and rent as well as a local living allowance... Besides I came via the middle east and Africa as las assignments so I am very easy to p...

Re: SGns being shy
... and LKY got into trouble and had to apologise for saying bluntly that they need to integrate more with society). Which makes it even more "insensitive" given the apparent cultural bias towards not being blunt by the non-Malay Singaporeans as discussed above. am I being pc enough here? Yes, and ...

Re: SGns being shy
In my experience SGns that I know are by and large not very good at conversation. The tend to not express opinions on for example current affairs and instead practice 'small-talk'. This is not necessarily a criticism (though I do find it boring) as it seems to just be a cultural way. So I am used t...

More fascinating facts ( source ): - A single pond in Brazil can sustain a greater variety of fish than is found in all of Europe's rivers. - A 25-acre plot of rainforest in Borneo may contain more than 700 species of trees - a number equal to the total tree diversity of North America. - A single ra...

Compared with other cities I've been in, on the whole I've been delighted with Singapore's taxi system. My only beef is how ridiculously hard it is to get a taxi when it's raining. Any tips on that? Yes I agree that my only problem is when it rains heavily. I usually start calling 30 minutes before...
